Have you changed your mind about PS3?

The PS3's strong showing at TGS has been impressive. Is it still an over priced paperweight, or do you see yourself in at the Gamestop register picking one up when these games start hitting shelves? Can it ever catch up to the 360? Will Batman and Robin escape the Penguin's Acid Vat of Doom?

So, im going to have to say No on this one, there's little to no reason for me to purchase a PS3 now or in a near future.

From a neutral point of view (pc gamer here) i really think the 360 has it beat and will continue to do so. Gotta say other than the usual boring sequals and remakes with better graphics the 360 already has some really good titles and many many more to come.

The PS3 looks like it has some good titles down the line but not enough exclusives imo.

FF is dead to me. Absolutely dead.

MGS4 looks amazing. But it is only one game, and I find it highly likely that Konami will take it multi-plat.

After arrogantly calling rumble "last gen," Sony has finally added rumble to the DualShock, but they aren't going to include it with the $600 console? Are they kidding? You have to buy an extra controller just to have rumble - a steadfast feature for a decade? Talk about milking!

It seems like Sony is TRYING to listen to consumers, but they have a long way to go. I would suggest they start with some amazing games. The PS3 may have the worst game collection that any console has ever had after a year on the market, especially if you subtract all the multiplats that came out on the 360 before being released on the PS3.

I'll say Final Fantasy 13 and Metal Gear Solid 4, because hey, I REALLY want those, but other games like Pain, Infamous, Star Ocean 4, (Possibly a console Parasite Eve), and such also sold me to the PS3.

I got mine the day after Sony's E3 conference, mostly due to the hype drew me in, but I also wanted hardware emulation for PS1 and PS2 games.

2007 has too many delays for the PS3, but 2008 the games should start rolling in.

Back around E3 06 I was once a cow that said "PS3 will dominate everything else with all these great titles being released within its first year (as planned)" and then was wowed by a bunch of CGI trailers with tacked on HUDs and said everything on 360 was garbage and their was nothing worth playing. As blind fanboys do I found the smallest details to bash Halo, Gears, Mass Effect and all the other games.

Then my iPod broke, got my $250 back from Best Buy and bought a 360 with my brother putting in the rest of the money and got Gears. At first the game was amazing and I started not being such a fanboy. Inside I was still saying "PS3 is still better" and stopped playing my 360. I then said "well let me play Gears and Rainbow Six online and see how XBL is" and oh my what a surprise, people actually talked. Though I wish some of them didn't atleast its better than nobody talking and seeming that I played against bots. Even though referring to titles as console exclusive on here is a sin, I enjoyed console exclusives because I didn't have a PC to play the games as most people on here dont (though they try to act as if they can play Crysis at max settings and everything)

So yeah, I would say my opinion changed about PS3.

I couldn't give a damn about anything... i just want GTA4 and RE5... had 2 360s break in under a year since launch (uk) so i getting ps3 October 2nd :D

Not at all.

My life has gone by just fine without playing FFX-2, FFXII, or MGS3. I am sure I can survive not playing FFXIII and MGS4.

The console is too expensive and not enough of the upcoming lineup amuses me.

The biggest announcement Sony has had at TGS was the Dual Shock 3. Why that would sway anyone to buy a PS3 is well beyond me.

Sony have showed everything for their PS3 at E3 already. So nothing they showed in TGS was impressive because everyone knew it already. Matter of fact, Sony showed some bad news in TGS, with the HOME delay and still no Final Fantasy game play. Hey atleast there were Metal Gear Solid 4 and Metal Gear Online playable demos. And I think the Halo 3 media blitz and advertisements kinda overshadowed any announcements from TGS.

If you put the PS3's game collection for the first yearside by side to the xbox360's, the PS3 wins with no problem. just think aboutgames like Rainbow six which was released to the xbox360 a little over a year after its launch and was released to the PS3 before that. ALL the great multiplats that you have now are released on the PS3 within its first year so I don't understand what you're talking about, not to mention great games like Resistance (this one beats any launch title on the 360) and MotorStorm which is one of the best off road racing arcades so far IMO after having played both Dirt and Revo. this argument of PS3 having no games is pretty old now. I am a gamer who can't find time to play all of my PS3 titles.

As for the rumble and your complaining about having to pay for one is also another ridiculous statement. when it comes to hiden costs of any system out there, the PS3 wins with no doubt. I find it ridiculous to pay 100 dollars for a stupid attena so you can connect your 360 to your wireless network which is important for many people and I am one of them. the 120GB harddrive that MS offers for you to purchase on the 360 is at least 1.5 times what you could pay for a normal harddrive and if you want to watch a next-gen movie you need to spend another 200 dollars on an external drive. PS3 has a lot more value in it than the 360, so please take your complaining elsewhere.

the responses so far it seems no one likes jrps, platformers, action aventuresanymore or just don't like ps 3 one or the other. rachet and clank, uncharted, jak and dexter final fronter, sly cooper ect. folklore, white knight but alot of people like dark clound same makersevery other jprg people hate on latly. action adventure no one lies anymore heavily sword, uncharted, ect. my guess there on ps 3 = sucks latly here in system wars. omg mass effect i can shootin a rpg = every other rpg sucks does anyone else seeing this latly. yes mass effect looks good but sence this game every other rpg sucks. i mean 30 exclusive dated for the ps 3 in 2008 but still everyone says no game looks good in he future. that to is unlikely. imfamous looks great. i see no one talks about eye of judgment but it is new to gaming but now one like innovation at all anymore as long as the fps keep coming. at least sony and nin are trying to do something differant. microsoft has not yet gave anything new to gaming except rushing to get a falty system and mutiple disk games and buy third parties off. i don't now but it seems to me sony has the most gene covered in 2008 but then again no one cares for sony no more. they have the largest first party but no one likes there first party games anymore. team ico is going to create the best game but everyone by then will hate sony so who cares right. we have been playing sony for years and years last gen people were complaining about falty hardware so they made sure it was not going ti happen this time made it more expensive but ha it is ok now to falty hardware because they made i a 3 year warrenty. this is what im seeing on system wars latly because 360 has the best fps.GARRYTH

I stopped there. The 360 had a launch AAAe and another AAAe (GRAW)while a year in the PS3 won't even have one. (Unless Ratchet scores 9.0)

Xbox 360= 4 AAA and 34 AA titles

PS3= 3 AAA and 16 AA titles.

And if you want to compare the last 10 months of each system you get

Xbox 360= 3 AAA and 21 AA

PS3= 3 AAA and 16 AA

Xbox 360 last 6 months have produced 2 AA and 17 AAA titles, so even the last 6 months of the 360 is comparable to the first 10 months of the PS3.
