Have you ever bought a game that suprise you sooooo much?

Last year I bought Rome: Total War Gold from Steam for around 2-5 bucks, and I totally forgot about that game until this week when I'm bored. I started to play this game, I was blown away by it because it's so addictive and fun, especially when I crush all those puny peasants with my awesome calvary.

Chinatown Wars.

Most recent one was Dante's Inferno. I thought it was pretty darn fun. Glad I enjoyed it so much because I immediately felt bad after purchasing it. It ended up being worth the money in the end.

Just Cause 2. I really didn't expect it to be so thrilling. I already knew the story sucked when I bought it; but the gameplay is just so fun!

MGS2 on xbox in the bargin bin for like $7

Import of Demon's souls (before GS review and GOTY awards)

The new Prince of Persia. I thought it would be good, but it ended up being one of my fav games of the gen.

Star Ocean Blue Sphere.

Not for one second did I think a action RPG with GOOD animation, lengthy play hours and deep gameplay was possible for the GBC, I was wrong 5x over.

THE most impressive game Ive ever played, Im not kidding.

This and inFamous. I had no allusions about inFamous whatsoever and it blew me away.

Sonic and Sega All Stars Racing just recently.

Urban Chaos? I bought the PSX game years ago, quite possibly the worst game I ever played..... ever.

Felt the same way about Rome Total War, such an awesome awesome game. I never liked civilization type games and I'm not that into RTS but damn is that a good game.

Yeah that game reminds me of 300 and LotR, so epic.

PSO & NFL 2K1... I wasn't too sure what to expect but I was :shock: and could hardly believe they played so well using the Dreamcast on-line in 2000 using dial up 56k modem speed plus they both were just fantastically made games from the standpoint of addicting game-play.IMO.

i asked him to do something with smiley faces but somehow he included cows >.>

Uncharted 2, tho it got good reviews didn't think it would be THAT good..popped it in and was amazed. Makes me wanna get uncharted 1 to see if that lives up to 2.

ME2 was the last game that i bought that make me say WOW :o

Ace Combat 6 - I'd been burnt out on AC games on the PS2, but AC6's online co-op really had me hooked.

Borderlands came out of left field and turned into one of my faves.

Resident Evil 4. I wasn't a big fan of the series up til then, so I gave the game no attention. I bought it on a whim one day (because of the great reviews) and was awestruck at the quality and sheer intensity of the entire experience. I have beaten it like 6 times since.

Ghostbusters on Wii was/is a surprisingly good game and I'd recommend it to anyone who has a Wii.

magic the gathering on xbla. SOOOOO addicting. (if you played the card game)

i had high expectactions for batman so no surprise there... i would say battlefield 2. i never played the first one and i bought bc 2 on a whim, not liking the demo and being addicted to mw2. man this game is fun with a couple buddies!! love the teamwork aspect. yes i know it got high scores but i was skeptical after not liking the demo.

Vampire: The Masquerade - Redemption.

I bought it because it was dirt cheap. I thought it was another snorefest. But, it surprised the heck out of me.

Eternal Sonata. Awesome game!

The original mass effect. Played through the first hour and turned it off, thinking the game was a horrific waste of 60$. 2 months later I put it back in and it got much better.
