At Gamestop it is only 5 or 6 bucks saved. On eBay you can usually get new releases for 50 bucks and sometimes after a month or two a new release is already around 30. I bought Killzone 2 for 50 bucks with free shipping. If I buy it at walmart it costs me closer to 65 with tax. So I saved 15 bucks right there.Ishop a lot (online) before I purchase a game, and I buy games in bundle of 3 or more and I usually include one used game that I want to just tryout for the first time (Like Stranglehold and Rockstar's Table Tennis). The games im most interested in I make sure to get a new version, other than that I don't mind buying used games, every used game I bought was in very good condition.

I bought Halo 3 for 30 used because I didn't want to pay 40 for it new on Amazon. I didn't feel it would have been worth the 40 bucks, and I was right about that one; Glad I only paid 30.
Usually for console games I wait till they go down to at least 40 on Amazon before I pick them up. Although I picked up Gears of War 2 limited edition at Target for 48 bucks because it was in the clearance rack for some reason, while the regular copy was still going for 60. lol However, if I want the game badly enough, I will buy it at full retail price when it comes out, like Resident Evil 5 for example.
Most PC games become cheap on Amazon after a couple weeks though, so I usually wait the couple weeks especially after making the mistake of paying 50 bucks for Far Cry 2 when it first came out. God what a mistake. There are exceptions as I said before though, like Left 4 Dead, GTA IV, Empire: Total War, etc.
I only buy used when the discount it good enough. And also if the new copy is hard to find. However, my bby discount is usually cheaper than gamestop's used games, so I buy a lot more new games than used.
yeah, i usually get into the new generation of systems a year, year and a half late and usually pick up all the big name launch titles used. After that not really, unless i passed on a purchase thinking its too much for a single player experience looking at you DEAD SPACE, i'll eventually pick it up used.
Yes. My local movie/game rental place fairly regularly clears out their stockpiles of used games (Xbox, 360, Wii, PS2 and PS3) in a 2 for $40 sale. That is canadian...and lately games seem to be selling for close to $70 it seems. Even at the more typical $50 - $60 price point, that still means 2 games for cheaper than the price of one. I've seen GTA4, GT Prologue, MGS4, etc all in this pile at some point (although it was a month or so after these games launched and I bought them at retail already). However, this was where i bought games like Valkyrie Chronicles, Bioshock, Disgaea 2, Condemned 2, and a couple others. I'm behind on my game purchases as it is, but I'm still hoping to find Street Fighter 4, Prince of Persia, and maybe even RE5 in this pile. The catch is you have to wait, and you have to get there the first day or two of the sale or else you will miss out on the good deals.
I've also bought Dead Space used because EB was having an insane deal in march, where you trade in Twilight princess for Wii and they'd give you $37 for trade. I bought TP at launch and done everything I ever could with it, so I traded it in and grabed a used copy of Dead Space, which was $45. I was out a whole $8 after taxes.
Countless of times..but not at all this gen..if it wasn't for a few months ago..because the country where i live in has a higher standards that i thought shops like gamestop and eb don't exist..but i found 1 and i bought few used games..
ya..gta 4 paid..23 bucks..add the lost and damned dlc for 20 thas 43 dollars...now if anyone bought gta 4 new..thas $63.58+$20.00=83.58 ..$43.00 VS $83.58..hmm lol but ya i buy all my games used..unless my used game stores dont have the game and i just really want to buy that game at the moment then i hit up walmart lol like killzone 2 couldnt find it used..so had to throw down $63.58 for it new..o well nice game tho..short but good.
