Ever got 1000/1000 points on a game? Which one?

If not, which game have you racked up the most in?

So far i've only completed CoD4 on 360, and have like 370-ish points, but the bulk of points are earned in completing the capmeign on veteran difficulty, 1-2 shot and you die :(

Oblivion and CoD2. CoD2's were extremely hard due to the Veteran achievements (ouch).

A few.... I can only name Oblivion and NFS: Most Wanted off the top of my head, but I know there's two, maybe three others.

The thing about achievements is that they challenege you to do things you notmally wouldnt try to do.

Ex. in CoD4, theres on called "Three of a kind" where you have to knife 3 enemies in a row. On a regular playthrough of the game, why would you ever bother to do such a thing?

The majority of achievements can't (or wouldnt normally) be done in a regular playthrough of a game.

not disagreeing with you, just showing the other side.

I agree, it extends how long the game could last for you. They're basically like challenges...

i cant afford that many games so i like to get the most out of them.

Enchanted Arms, since all 1000 points were given on one playthrough. I have 980/1000 on Viva Pinata aswell, but I can't drag myself into playing for 50 hours to get the final achievement.

I don't usually get far past 500/1000 points, since the majority of games have achievements like "complete on easy" "complete on hard" "complete on insane" etc, and I can't drag myself through a linear game ridiculous amounts of times just to watch a number go up. Dead Rising and Viva Pinata are the only two games which have actually presented achievements I wanted to get.

I maxed out Condemned: Criminal Origins, still the most underrated game on the 360 in my opinion.

I have 200/200 in Pacman CE. The closest I have to 1000 in a game is Halo 3 with 855.

DiRT was really easy to max out achievements on, and a run racing game as well.

I also got 200/200 on galaga if that counts :)

I have all achivements for Halo 3 and Oblivion. I DO NOT plan on getting all achievements for COD4, because the epilogue on veteran is IMPOSSIBLE (well, there is a tiny tiny tiny chance of winning, but usually people only beat it on the PC).

The closest I've come to maxing out a game was Mass Effect.

I have like 910 or something.

I don't really spend a lot of time worrying about it though...

It really amazes me that there are people with over 100k gamerscore :|

I got CoD4 for the 360 for xmas, and i just 1000/1000'd it this morning(i had to finish finding some intel files). I choose to play it on veteran for my first playthrough, and try for all the achievements without having to replay much. It was hard as hell in many cases, but was a very rewarding experience. The fact that stray bullets could ended up hitting me often, and nearly downing me, added to the franticness of the war.. an incredible experience. Though, the mile high club pissed me off something fierce. I must have spent 2-3 hrs on that 1 minute!

I also 1000/1000'd oblivion, but the expansion came out.. so does it still count?(i don't own expansion). The achievements were the main reason i didn't drop this game after a handful of hours. They actually made some of the guilds fun.

I nearly 1000/1000'd bioshock.. but i killed sander cohan in fort frolic(what a mistake), and for some reason the game didn't register that i beat it on hard.

I've been working on gears for ages, i'm over half way to seriously. I don't have series of tubes either, as i never host. That's for the original set of achievements, with the new ones i'm missing all annex ones and have no desire to finish them.

I plan on going back to Command and Conquer 3 sometime, they stupidly decided to give you achievements for completing things on the hardest difficulty while not giving you the ones for teh easier..

I'm also working on mass effect. I have 750/1000. I only have some ability/weapon achievements(ie use sabotage 75 times) and most of the ally achievements(what a pain in the butt these are!)

I've 200/200 a handful of arcade games like castlevania and ninja turtles(the first game i actually started to care about achievements!).

You have to be extremely aggressive, use your smoke grenades very effectively, and have quite a bit of luck/patience. Keep advancing, and in some cases even run past guys(after smoking them).

Start out by knifing the guy in the bathroom fast(try for a swipe, and not a stab). Then quickly shoot the guy down the hall on the left(leave the guy on the right) and ready a smoke, toss it just before/around the time the guys pile into the room and run up on the left side. I find ducking and aiming to be easier here then hip firing, but only do so to clear out the few guys in your way and the guy behind the opening on the right(you might find there's a guy on the left often that kills you.. if he wasn't smoked properly). Then, run out on the right and hide behind the first set of chairs while you do your first reload. Toss a smoke grenade out into the middle of the guys there(where the plane has a breach) and move out. Duck again behind the chairs and deal with the guys that come down the stairs. Reload as you make your way up, and i recommend choosing the left side not right. I tossed a smoke down the hall through the open doorway and took out as many guys as i could(be carfeul, this part is tricky), and made my way out through the door there. If you have some ammo left, take otu some of the guys that come running down the next hall before you reload again. FIre a smoke into the room, then charge on past everyone left. Before you get to the bend in the corner, stop and ready your gun as 2-3 guns come running out. Waste thim if you have time, and run as fast as you can to the door.. then, pray you're a good enough shot with a pistol.

Funny thing for me, i would have finished it in the first hr or less.. but i shot the hostage! This happened another time too!

King Kong (.), Viva Pinata, Pacman: CE, and FNR3. I also had all the achievements in Gears and Oblivion, but then they added some. Oh, and all I need for R6: Vegas is a vision cam.

Nope, I play for the experiences not achievements. I do think they are cool though, but they are not the reason why I play a game.

i found the trick is not to reload, just pick up another weapon, its 95% luck and basically all comes down to the last corridor and how many rounds you happen to have left.

It's all about the perfect use of flash-bangs. That's why they give you more on the top floor. If you use them correctly, you can completely blind the first room. Simply blast your way through, ignoring all the blinded dudes who aren't in your way, and preferably picking up the first guy's shotgun. Take cover in the next room and your SAS buddies will follow mopping up after you.

Do the same thing. Run up the stairs, leaving like 75% of the guys downstairs. They wont follow. Like i said, just blind and shoot the ones you have to. SAS will do all the rest. Rinse and repeat and watch for the last guys around the corner at the end. Aim ABOVE the guy's head who has the hostage and the bullet will hit him. Anywhere else is too close to the hostage.

Also, i know that sounds very tactical and complicated, but you literally have to sprint your ass the whole way through stopping as little as humanly possible. It really is a burn-run.

Ah, fair enough. I never swapped out guns. I found that, if you did everything else right(which really did rely a bit on luck!) you had the time for the reload, just as long as you didn't do many of them.
Howeve,r i should give it another shot with that strategy.

And on a Call of Duty 4 note; Cpt MacMillian is cool, Price just might be the most awesome character evar, and Gaz is a cheeky bastard!

long explanation on owning the epilogueblahzor
ok since this has turned into a CoD4 help thread, any tips on beating "Charlie Dont Surf" on veteran? Specifically the part where you breach the TV station. I've tried it atleast 20 times now, with as many different approaches, but 3 shot kills are not fun.

Yeah from what i can remember i'm maxed out on NBA 2k6, Need for Speed: MW, Oblivion (not counting the ones that came with expansion), some arcade games, and then i'm close to maxing out a few like Viva Pinata (1 achievement left), NBA 2k8 (3 left)/

but it definately seems like achievements are getting tougher.

I maxed out BioShock, but that wasn't particularily hard since the game was so easy. I got all the achievements in Forza Motorsport 2 as well, and I have like nine-hundred and something in Halo 3.

No offense intended at all friend, but if you cant do that level you have absolutely no chance at all further down the line. :P

Its not the level thats hard, its the area you play it. it givesvery poor defense with enemies all over. I think the problem is I've been sitting back trying to camp, but i just realized the enemies respawn if you dont push.

The other levels more open and allow for easy camping, and then narrow corridors where a simple flashbang will do. The only one which will be hard would be One shot, one kill.

most of em are just a matter of moving from armament to armament.

CoD 2, CoD 4, NFS MW, King Kong, Geometry Wars, Marble Blast Ultra, Hardwood Backgammon, and a few others I forgot about. Almost have Oblivion, just need to do the Mages Guild which I've been putting off for a year, hah.
