Greenman Gaming has the PC version for $13.50.

https://www.greenmangaming.com/games/far-cry-5-pc/

You can also get it on Uplay for $15 or $12 if you use 100 Uplay coins to get a 20% coupon.

https://store.ubi.com/us/home/?lang=en_US

Thoughts, SW? You interested in getting it or have you played it already? No spoilers! I just got it lol. Played a couple hours yesterday and I love it so far.

Edit: You can get it on Steam too!

I stopped playing far cry games because it forced you to go to certain areas to kill certain animals just to upgrade certain stuff.

That is annoying and a chore.

Does Far Cry 5 still have that annoying system of updgrading stuff? I don’t have the patience to hunt animals and hope the right ones show up or having to google everything.

Ugh, that's a really good price, but I still haven't finished 4. *groan* I hate PC game sales.

Enjoyed playing through Far cry 5 after hating 4. That ending though.

It’s a solid entry in the series though the story progression is incredibly lazy and kills the fun for me. Still had a good time putzing around doing random things.

I got kind of burned out play FC4, didn't even finish it (maybe 10 hours total)

So I don't think FC5 would really be worth it, since I haven't heard anything amazing about it

No, all that has been completely removed.

Funny, a lot of people complained about it youtube reviews but Im like you, I didnt like it.

Game has been streamlined for the better. Missions and interest points are discovered organically now instead of having your map filled with clutter.

Its a better game imo.

Far Cry 5 doesn't have the Reset Outpost Mode of Far Cry 3 and 4. So, the post-storyline is a bit lacking to me.

Solid game for that price. I think I still prefer 3 over 4 and 5, but you can't beat that price.

around that figure is the max i'll pay for a ubisoft title these days. and i'll pick it up thinking "maybe this one will be different from the others..." but it never is. and i'll curse myself for giving them the benefit of the doubt. again. fortunately i've got so much stuff to play that i'm not tempted even at that price.

Why bother as its the worst in the series and has convinced me not to buy the new one coming out.

Only buy it if you like backwoods/redneck America and the horrible accents that come with it.

Screw that BS. I'm done when I think say I'm done. Besides, FC5 has Outpost Master. Ubi could have expanded it more to include the rest of the world.

Even the first two STALKER games had free-explore with fully-occupied worlds retrofitted in after the SP campaign.

One of my favorite games this gen. Lots of things to do and shooting stuff is just a lot a fun. Just don't take the story too seriously.

My body tells me I'll never play this.

I just can't.

There are already too many games I have that I haven't really touched. I don't want to buy another game just for the sake of saying I own it and then forget that I even have it.

Haven't played it yet but heard good things about it. I skipped Far Cry 4. Loved Blood Dragon and found Far Cry 3 flawed but enjoyable. Can someone tell me how is it compared to Far Cry 3? Should I try it? What about Far Cry 4?

@SolidGame_basic: I think far cry is one of the better ubisoft franchises from a pure gameplay perspective. You can definitely creat some pretty great moments in their worlds, but after FC4 I was turned off...

FC4 to me was almost exactly the same game as 3 with the exception that I could now fly in a dingy which cuts you off from the compelling gameplay found in the world.

I was 10 hours into FC4 and realized I was playing the same game only slightly worse...

That's a perfect recipe for an Eroica hiatus from a series. I'll be back when I feel like it I guess...

No it doesn't. I can fight from the air and the bad guys below are quite adept at shooting me down if I'm not careful....especially snipers. I've seen snipers, RPG, LMGs, stealth/flaming arrows, even mortars try to take a piece of me while hovering with a Buzzer. The enemy AI does a credible job of hiding as I passed overhead, then pop out and take pot shots at me after I passed by. Quite far from being cut off.

I still get shot down every now and then. Being caught within the effective range of the mortar's cluster munitions was the most surprising one of all.

It took a lot of trial and error before I figured out how to best employ the Buzzer as a weapons platform.

@TheEroica: I had similar reservations about Far Cry 5. That's why I waited for a deal. Have played only a couple hours so far, but I can tell I like this one better.

@SolidGame_basic: I think 15 bucks is a good price for this one to jump in with some reservations. I admit I'd probably pick it up for around that price.

@TheEroica: yea, you can actually get it slightly cheaper too. if you have Uplay, you cn use 100 Uplay points to get a 20% coupon from the store, and get the game for $12. Which is what I did. Or Greenmangaming is selling it for $13.50.

I was never a fan of the Ubisoft open world games (and their check list/schematic formula), but FC5 was a step in the right direction.

Instead of following icones in the map one after another, exploration in FC5 is actually organic. Story and characters are as unispired as in any other Ubisoft game, but at least the world looks great and it's fun to explore.

@PCgameruk: I never understood why do people loved FC3 so much!? It introducted all the mechanics no one wants in open world games (checklist explorarion, a hundred icons pointing you where to go, etc), not to tell that it ran like crap on 7th gen consoles.

It had a cool vilain, but that was all. Overal it was the worst in the series for me.
