If I'm not mistaken, isn't the Xbox 360's cheapest price point at around $199? Because I was all excited about getting a PSP for $250, but then I realized that for even less I could get an Xbox 360. The PSP has an incredibly strong lineup, yet I've never owned an Xbox console so there are many games that I've always wanted to try out and never have. Where do you think the money is better spent in this situation?

The reason to get a psp is if you want to game on the go. Why else would you consider it?

A PSP GO at $250 is an absolute ripoff. It gets rid of the UMD drive, which dramatically reduces the manufacturing cost. Even the PSP Slim is overpriced for the games it offers. My PSP Slim and Phat collect dust like crazy. Getting a PSP over a current-gen system like Xbox 360? Ha.

I won't lie that is the last reason I bought my PSP. Al lI wanted was homebrew, movies and music and that's what I have. I've owned the system for over a year and only bought a single game for it.

I would go 360, but if you want a PSP, save money and get yourself a PSP2000. The PSP Go is way too costly, and you can snag a PSP 2000 for cheap now.

Depends. Given my love of TRPGs, prior to finishing FFT: WotL and Jeanne d'Arc, I may have taken the PSP. Now I still have Disgaea, but I am finding that less engrossing than I hoped.

If you like playing RPG's, go with the PSP-3000 or PSPgo (Resistance: Retribution actually played really good for my first FPS on it bty). The LCD screen is beautiful watching movies and playing games on the Go. If you like hard copies go with the PSP 3K, if you like digital distribution then save up for the PSPgo coming Oct. 1 with some pretty sweet games. Hope this helped

Lemming or not €250 is too much for a redesigned handheld, especially when you can get a home console for much less. I like the design and this is actually the first time I'm tempted to get one, but it costs too much.

I would think that sheer difference in quality between a handheld console and a home console would be enough to make it difficult to justify. Given the choice, of course.

Also, $250 is pretty standard for the debut of that kind of device.

Everyone is complaining about the price rightfully so, but its the flash memory that makes the costs high, flash is still expensive.

Yeah, 360 cheapest model is $199.99. The only difference between that and the most expensive model is the hard drive is missing on the arcade (bit it has save cards and you can add a hard drive), wired controller instead of wireless, ... i think thats about it.

Um, how did you review 360 games without a 360?

And I would never choose a handheld over a console, especially if the handheld is more expensive.

My PSP collects dust, but that's not to say you couldn't be interested in the games.

Truly, if I was you I'd get the PSP 3000, and not the Go!. In the press conference they mentioned the Go! being I think 40% smaller, and 50% lighter than the original PSP 1000. Well, the 2000 and 3000 are both 33% smaller, and lighter than the original, so really there's no point in spending an extra $80 for a portable that's an ounce or two lighter with a smaller screen....

PSP 3000 + a large memory stick > PSP Go!

Xbox 360 > PSP Go!

Really, if you're interested in 360 then get that, and if you want the PSP get a 3000 definitely.

Except for the fact that the $199 Xbox 360 is one big piece of crap.

Get the PSP. It's the only platform the true MGS sequel will be appearing, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker!

Well they are two completely different things, you can go with the PSP anywhere you want or even plug it into your tv to play so you can use it both ways. I'll rather have the PSP since it has Snake on it and it doesn't keep breaking up :) Also, you can get a PSP 2000 or 3000 for a cheaper price.

Depends, do you have a PS3 or a PS2 at the moment? If the answer is yes don't even think about a PSP, even though PSP games aren't all PS2 ports, you can get pretty similar versions of those games on them anyway, and the 360 has similar games too, and many more.

IMO, he has always been a bit of a Lem but everyone time someone accuses him of it he denies it.

He used to always use the excuse "but I own a PS3 so I can't be a fanboy" and would always post that picture of his PS3.

Just because you own both consoles it doesn't mean you can't be a fanboy.

Sony thinks 250 dollars have the same value as 250 Euro. That's a major rip-off.

This is the PSP you should be contemplating:

August 2009 - PSP-3000 bundle, Dissidia: Final Fantasy, "Final Fantasy VII Advent Children" on UMD disc, and 2GB Memory Stick Pro Duo. $199.99.
