Comparing AC to MGS? No.
I agree with you about AC. MGS is actually interesting, has great gameplay, terrific characters and awesome stories. AC had none of those, imo.
Just finished Assassin's Creed and Ive played all Im gonna play. Apart from the crappy gameplay and boring repetition, who on earth thought it would be a good idea to have lengthy unskippable cutscenes full of dreary exposition (& with no subtitles I might add!). It made me wonder how people manage to sit through MGS with its hours upon hours of cutscenes and bad philosophy debates - talk about an endurance contest!vitriolboy
I see you have Gears of War in there.....well let me be honest with you! I got Gears on PC and compared to Assassin's Creed it's a pice of crap!! How can you endure that?? I fealt like sleeping after the first 10 minutes.....every caracter is a 800lbs gorilla who bearly can move around and they are so boring...I don't know how I got myself playing that game.....
See?? I can do that too!

Oh sorry, I thought this was a forum to discuss videogames. Are blogs the place for opinions you dont want to hear?
Comparing Assassins Creed to MGS? 2 different stylesRazMaTaz-1
I'm not comparing the 2, I'm commenting how long drawn out cutscenes affect the enjoyment of games. MGS is definitely king of the cutscene

Thing with Assassins Creed is that you CANT skip cutscenes, and half the time its just boring talk. MGS, you can skip cutscenes, and 80% of the cutscenes in all MGS games are very interesting to watch.

Anyway.....AC is a great game...especialy if you know some history....that helps too!!

I totally agree with you.
I'm half way through assassins creed and i yet to see any interesting cutscene whatsoever, mgs on the other hand had interesting cutscenes that you'd want to watch, and if you didn't , you could skip e'm.

Well then, can we argue that MGS cut scenes are far more interesting then AC? Have you played any MGS games btw?
HOw do u possibly compare that piece of dang near solid good game garbage to Metal Gear Solid.
I liked assassins creed, but MGS owns it because get this the story in MGS doesnt SUCK!!!!!!! like assassins creed.
WTF is today MGS 4 topic day. I swear this is out of the blue. There wasnt much talk of this game for the past few weeks and now every thread.
I feel sorry for kojima
MGS 4 for 360 cofirmed
MGS sucks
MGS is god
MGS F'ed my best friends sister.
Enough with the MGS threads
Its gonna own, its gonna be amazing, and its months away.
thank u.
its a good game, its just a little to repetitive and the story takes all the way until the end for you to get really excited about it, and then it pulls a Halo 2.Poor old Assassin's Creed is copping a lot of flak lately. I put it on hold to play other games, but I loved the first bit I've played. Now I'm getting worried about going back!

Clearly you have never played MGS if you are asking this question. And if you have never played MGS, then why did you make a thread comparing a game you clearly don't like to a game you know absolutely nothing about?
I got Assassins creed when it first came out and at first I really enjoyed it however it get old pretty quick...
I agree that the cut-scenes are somewhat drawn out and a lot of the ones that happen when you assassinate your target involve some real amateur hour dialogue which usesa sledgehammer to get a point across when a simple nudge would have done.
The review on gamespot was completely out of line for what thegame is, not saying that it didn't have it's moments, but 9.0? I think it is hard to justify that score no matter howmuch the review tries to. If you compare it to other games that rate around it (Mass effect: 8.5, Bioshock: 9.0, Call of Duty: 9.0, command and conquer 3: 8.7) then the artificially high rating for Assassins creed becomes much more striking.
All in alll too much repetition without a good enough storyto justify it, would go with the aforementioned games before this...
The problem is AC tried to blend action and stealth gameplay with a wacky story and failed miserably at it. MGS is definitely a niche game (in the sense that you'll either love it or hate it) but its so well done its greater than the sum of its parts.PBSnipes
Stealth, i didn't see much stealth? I saw more free-running/action/real-time story telling with a load of interesting gameplay mechanics that run smoothly despite a huge amount stuff going on. But i guess you would only know that if you played the game.
