Haze....one of the biggest letdowns of all time?

That's a little surprising. Was there really that much hype for this game? I mean, it was only hyped AA here......and it's considered one of the biggest flops essentially? Lair was a bigger flop in my mind.

The only people hyping it were delusional PS3 fanboys ad Ubisoft as far as I saw. Most previews etc were quite cutting of it and the footage released were always indicative of the issues that the final issue had.

So no it wasn't the biggest letdown of all time.

yeah I remember most here would always question whether or not it was going to be good.......only a few really hyped this game. I NEVER heard Halo killer. I can't believe this game made the biggest letdowns list lol.

I could see from videos, screenshots, and previews that is was terrible. Unfortunately Cows were blind to the inherant crumminess. Show 'em any generic fps, and watch it hailed as a Halo/HalfLife/Crysis killer.

For the record, having seen gametrailers footage of Resistance 2, i can safely say it looks terrible too, but ive only got 26 years of game experience, and know nothing compared to the Playstation generation........

the demo wasnt bad, it wasfun, enjoyed it more then GTAmingo123

GTA4 is rubbish though. I don't know why it got a 10. It's full of minigames.

I saw footage (online) of Resistance 2 as well.....it looked average (maybe not terrible but did not wow me).

Honestly if that game doesn't deliver on the single player it's going to flop.....maybe not as hard as haze but still will be a flop.

Well the PS3 isn't exactly floating in a fantastic FPS sea so hyping any half decent looking FPS is the natural thing to do, just look at the Wii and The Conduit.

As for Reistance 2, Lollorz ur stupeed dunt you see the 60 playa online, its gun be awesomez, Halo canz only do 16 playays lol 360 am so fail. etc

But seriously I agree the footage made it look very generic.

Biggest letdown , dont think so , since there werent so many ppl out there that waited for this like MGS4 or GTA4.

Letdown because of another PS3 exclusive that floped yes, but rather than that.. I really dont care about Haze , nor i would before. Generic FPS games should stop someday. And i hope to stop.. Getting boring and monotonous really. Haze wasnt an exception of this.

It was officially hyped AA here but that was only because of the Lair farce and other PS games flopping that cows started hyping games A or AA to stop the foaming Lems and sheep from howling at them. Haze was AAA on pretty much every list of PS3 exclusives in the first 8-9 months of 07 and many after that. Not saying everyone was hyping it AAA but the release of the PS3 and the wave of euphoria made alot of people get carried away and hype games that they really shouldn't have, having not seen any gameplay vids and basing all their excitement on press releases, CGI and stillshots.

I'd still say Lair because it was first giant flop of this gen and a real system shock to those who believed that the PS3 would crush all before it instantly.

EDIT can I also add that the demo pretty much removed any hopes that this game would be good.

This game was certinaly the biggest dissapointment in gaming for me this gen, I wasn't expecting it to be a Halo 3 or COD4 killer, maybe to come very close considering Free Radicals past, sadly that was not the case, everything about the game had major flaws.ONLYDOD

IMO Lair was a bigger disappointment. I can play Haze.........after playing Lair for 10 mins I never played it AGAIN.

How Haze got on the list and not Lair is an engima. The writer must be a FPS fanboy because the game isn't bad, it's just typical/average.

Correctamundo! No but seriously the controller is crap for FPS & I can't remember any stand out FPS that ever appeared exclusively on a Sony console. The Sony brand & FPS just do not have a good history.
