I don't have an HDTV and I have never seen a video game on an HDTV. I am wondering if it really is that much better. I know I would love to have a PS3 and an HDTV but that requires a lot of money. My question is, is HD all that much better? Is it worth all the money? And if I can't get one, is the Wii the best system to have without the HD and surround sound and all that good stuff?
Not one on a$10,000+ rig or at least not with setting that make the framerate suck if I'm not staring at a wall. Consoles are just way more convenient and over better experience.
In truth, a good size HDTV is more impressive than a typical PC moniter simply because it's big. PC moniters can usually display higher resolutions but I like things big. Even though I play my 360 on a moniter sometimes.:P Answering the TC, yes, the difference is noticable. Also, playing a PC game on high res is NOT a good comparison, imo.

OK, im not going to get a BIG TV for a long long time I just dont have that much money now. Im talking about 27inch-32inch max size TV. So if the PC can display as good or better graphics than a console can in HD, i might as well just play PC games cause that sounds like a better deal.

Pc's have far better grpahics then Consoles.... and if you want to actually compare you have to play a modern game..... Omg just stop posting, every time you do, you just make more and more of a fool of yourself.

HD is basically high resolution, resolution being the amount of pixels in an image, higher resolutions looking better. 720p is 1280x960, and 1080p is 1920x1200. Basically, PC resolutions go up to 4xxx x something daft. More usually 2xxx x something daft. I forget the exact numbers, and any old PC can do 'HD', and has been doing for years. It's doesn't matter if the game was 'built around' HD, any game will work in any resolution.
i play all my games on a 21" SD CRT telly (CRT FTW!!! :P). this includes the 360. if i were to take a picture of oblivion running on my SD telly and then running on my 37" HD telly, i would seriously struggle to tell the difference. the crt telly produces a sharp image and is perfect for its size. however if my SD telly was 37" then oblivion would look a fair bit fuzzier all round due to the pixels on the screen being bigger. having a HD telly and HD games console means that far more pixels are on the screen so the machine can send out more details to the screen, making the image sharper. so basically, imho, HD is pretty pointless at 21" or under. however the bigger the screen gets, the more pixels (or higher res) are needed to keep the image as sharp as SD on a 20" telly. playing an SD game an a really big telly could look pretty bad (though some telly are great at upscaling so its not too bad).

PC gaming and console gaming has very few similarities. They share many games but most things are different. It all depends on how much money you are willing to spend. You could spend $500, or you could spend $5000. A "good gaming experience" on the PC can be had with a 10 year-old PC. So it all depends on what era of games you want to play. You have a lot of research ahead of you.

Playing any game at a resolution of 1024 x 768 or higher is HD quality, though if you count widescreen into the mix then it's 1280 x 720 or higher. So, PC gaming is usually always done in HD, has been for many many years, HD is nothing new for PC's.
So the term HD really doesn't mean anythin special? The Xbox360 and PS3 being OMGWTFBBQ HD Gaming shouldn't be exciting?

Let me put it this way. Your comments are basically a parallel to "omg, my bicycle can do 20km/hr, when will cars be able to do 20km/hr". This new comment is also incredibly stupid, and you seem to have this irrational hate for the PC despite the fact you've clearly never played a PC game or understand how the system (or any system) works.
