Well since I've yet to touch a PS3 (:() I wouldn't know how great it looks on a HDTV but I have played Gears of War on my friend's HDTV and it looks sublime.
Then I go back to my house and play FFXII on a HDTV and it does not look so good, lol.
Not for me, no. I honestly can't tell the difference between HD and SD without looking carefully.nyoroism
Really what size and resolution is your TV?

I'm poor.
That's why I don't have a PS3.
I'm laughed at in public.

It's called having good credit. All you need is some income to show that you have credit worthiness. It's how I bought everything.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention my TV can do 1080i, but only when I tell it to from the XBOX. Otherwise it's in 720p. Is that the way all TVs work?[QUOTE="nyoroism"][QUOTE="-Sir-Poof-"][QUOTE="nyoroism"]Not for me, no. I honestly can't tell the difference between HD and SD without looking carefully.TekkenMaster606

Well, putting that stuff on credit isn't for everyone. You have to pay it back eventually, right?[QUOTE="Journey89"][QUOTE="nyoroism"][QUOTE="-Sir-Poof-"][QUOTE="nyoroism"]Not for me, no. I honestly can't tell the difference between HD and SD without looking carefully.nyoroism

it depends on the max resolution on the TV.

Is that the way all TVs work?I think thats how most TVs work, my friend brought over his PS3 I had the HD res at 1080i but when we started up Motorstorm it automatically set the settings to 720p without me having to do anything.

OMG I am spoiled - I have a 61" Sammy in full blown 1080p (not that the games run at that res anyway) but I don't mind playing the older games still. I am playing RES EVIL 5 right now on the original GC and its not bad.
I could swear though that the older games look worse on the new HD sets.
I'm a bit spoiled but I still like some of my PS2 games so I dont mind not playing in HD too much. I watch all my DVD's on my 360 and HD movies on my PS3 so I'm a bit spoilt with movies.I own a 51in HDTV that supports 1080i/720p I have watched High Def movies and have played High Def games, now I wanted to ask have your eyes been spoiled in HD and cannot go back to regular SD viewing when it comes to video games and movies?

I am not only baffled at the fact you're playing Resident Evil Five, but you're also playing it on an "original GameCube".OMG I am spoiled - I have a 61" Sammy in full blown 1080p (not that the games run at that res anyway) but I don't mind playing the older games still. Yes. I subscribe to Comcast Digital Cable and I have a hi def dvr and I generally never watch analog channels anymore due to the poor quality on my 42" samsung plasma. I no longer watch old dvd's unless they are upconverted and I have held off of the wii due to quality issues as well.I own a 51in HDTV that supports 1080i/720p I have watched High Def movies and have played High Def games, now I wanted to ask have your eyes been spoiled in HD and cannot go back to regular SD viewing when it comes to video games and movies?

The most impressive part of your statement is that you are playind RE5, nice.OMG I am spoiled - I have a 61" Sammy in full blown 1080p (not that the games run at that res anyway) but I don't mind playing the older games still. I am playing RES EVIL 5 right now on the original GC and its not bad.

Well the sound quality is on par of a car radio, and the picture sometimes spazzes out when I'm watching TV. (It's not my cable either, I've compared it to another TV when it does this)I am not going to say the games don't look better in HD, because they do, but I see the difference in my HD experience with sports, mainly football, after watching the NFL in hd, its hard to watch it in a bar or something that doesnt have it in hd.air0123
I remember seeing ESPN in HD for the first time, it was right after watching the Monday night game Cowboys vs Eagles and OMG I couldnt believe it was the highlights from the same game, huge difference imo.

(It's not my cable either, I've compared it to another TV when it does this)get a good set of 5.1 surround sound speakers. they will do wonders(For games and movies). plus if you get a better TV. you could use the speakers for that TV.

If only you could see my setup for the room the XBOX is in. Bigger TVs and speakers are out of the question, sadly.I have a Sony 42 inch Plasma HDTV, it's freaking amazing, my 360 games look outstanding on it, movies look better than ever, the HD channels are so vibrant, watching Sports is like being at the games. The problem is not enough HD channels at the moment, and watching the regular NON HD channels is painful.
I prefer Plasma over LCD, for some reason LCD's just come off looking somewhat blurry to me. Plasma's are expensive, but IMO are the best. My HDTV cost me about $5000 in January of 2005 when I bought it. I plan on getting a PS3 later this year also, I like what I've seen from Blu Ray so far.

In my opinion, nothing can beat sony's super fine pitch tube yet as far as overall picture quality goes exept may be for new Panasonic's elite plasma line. High resolution Plasmas are second best and the best choice for screens above 34 inches though. LCDs are kind of meh to me too.
