This demo rocked.... I will admit it was short and it takes a couple of runs through to get a handle of the combat system.... but once you do this game is awesome.... beautiful graphics and fun combat.... hopefully the final game is long and theres some replayability to it... so far so damn good though... IGN liked it alot...

When people say the combat sucked, I bet they didn't even try to chain moves or do combos. The axe guy probably destroyed them because they realized the enemies weren't stupid and actually block, so their button mashing didn't work, so they complain.

I couldn't get over the blatent frame rate issue, if you couldn't read the post in one of the other 5 floating Heavenly sword threads. I don't understand why you would make a choppy game out of a HACK AND SLASH, the developers had to of known there would be many different enemies on screen at once.

....? to be perfectly honest with you i didnt notice any framerate issues.... it could be a tad faster but the framerate stayed at a solid pace for me.... never slowed down... and im not just making that up... i would be honest about framerate cause i believe it is very important for a game like this to have a tight framerate but.... i didnt have any issues with it

Well, I would say something completely fanboyish and tell you to get glasses, but, then again, it could be an isolated issue for either machine that you and I played on.

On a completely different and totally unrelated issue, there is more than one literary device than "..." to insinuate a pause in thought or speech.

I can honestly tell you calling it a hack-n-slash is doing it injustice.

I was publicly noting how you liked to use that; it seems to find its way into all of your posts, just look for yourself. I also didn't say you had to correct yourself, if correcting a way of writing even existed.

Framerate issues? I only had one slow down and that was right after the CGI cutscenes when it was loading up the enemies into the cache. I experienced NO slowdown during combat.

This seems to be a hit or miss amungst people who downloaded it. Do you think that there are two versions in release with one being earlier and more laggy and another which is more polished? Because there was certainly frame rate issues when I was watching.

I can only guess. I mean, there were slow downs, but not during combat for me. I think it could be a number of things. Proper ventillation, the firmware you're using, etc.

I had no framerate issues. At least none that really bothered me. After reading some of these posts, I want to go check it out again. I was upset that it is basically two battles. You really only get a taste. The auto block is also a little strange. Regardless, I am buying this game.

Yea I don't know what the issue is with the framerate. Its definitely not consistent around the board. Is your firmware up to date? It is definitely very strange. Are you from the UK or other than the US? Maybe we can narrow it down. Oh BTW notice the punctuation. I tried really hard.

Its not auto, there is a mechanic behind it. Read the tooltips in the controls or combo tab i think.

I don't understand why is everyone bashing this game....:|

IMO the combat was deeper, and more fun then NGS, GOW, DMC, or any action adventure game with a sword in it. SERIOUSLY.

People who buttoned mashed the game are ignorant.

http://blogs.ign.com/Heavenly_Sword/2007/07/25/61327/

Check out this link on the proper way to play HS and to have fun with the combos and stances.

and frame-rate issues? all I see are a bunch of lemming boys lost from home.

My meaning is that there is no button for it. You can adjust your stance to block different hits (hard or fast for example). But there is no block button like there is for NGS or GOW. This is not necc. a bad thing. It will just take some adjusting to.

You didn't have to do that for me, I just so happen to be a grammar Nazi Which is weird because my twelth grade English teacher hated me. Anyway, I would have to check later today because it is our school computer. It should have all of the latest downloads, at least I think. We got it last month, if that has any baring. If not, I'll make sure to download what I can today and get it up to speed. If not, that's just weird.

lol, well there is a block button. 2 of them...you explain it in your own post.

Um no there is no "block button". You can change your stances (L1 and R1) which in turn "automatically" block different type of attacks. Why do I feel like I am talking to a wall? NGS and GOW have a specific block button. HS doesn't. Does this ruin the game? Not at all. It just is weird that she automatically blocks seeing as other games like this have a block button. Again, changing your stances only changes what hits you automatically block. So in conclusion there is NO block button. Thanks for playing.

lol yes it really isnt that complicated. I understand what your saying. I personally don't think it makes the game better or worse but different. It takes some getting used to. I think that alot of the people bashing the game are button mashing and not paying attention to the "stance" system. Once you realize how to do it (I played through it a couple of times), it works quite well.

The game won't support 1080p(I can live with that,just about).The game won't support 1080i(come on,now your taking the P*ss).

When asked on the ninja thoery forum why this was the case they accused the poster of trolling but eventually answered the question "Lack of RAM".

Nah, it's a little random. I played through the demo like... 8 times. And 2 out of those 8 times I saw not only some frame rate issues, but some tearing - but the other times there were no problems - hopefully this can be tweaked out of the final build (especially considering this is a really really old demo as it is).

Yes, this game is unreal. The first time I pulled of the combo on the big dude and then finished him off I had to pick my jaw up off the ground and get a clean pair of shorts.

The devs said this-

Noticable points

- the demo is an old build probably from last years demo since its exactally the same level
- the game has improved significantly from the demos build
- many glitches are fixed
- sound issuses have also been fixed
