Heavenly Sword = MEH

After playing thrpough the demo several times I came away rather unimpressed with the game. It is just another button masher and thats fine if you like that style of game, but really nothing else wow'd me or the other people who have played it. I know its a demo and that the whole game may be a lot better, but a demo is supposed to get you pumped to buy a game, heavenly sword fails miserably at that.

The graphics were nice, although not groundbreaking by any means...what really stands out are the amazing animations. All in all its just another beat em up that will be forgotten soon after its launch.

IMO it's better then NGS,GOW and DMC combined.

Its far from a button masher. It focus more on combos and timing of counters. If you go button mashing in Heavenl Sword you will get hit alot.

I'm not saying its true but one of the devs said that they know you can mash buttons early in the game. But they said if you tried that later in the game you'd get crushed. Sounds good to me.

For me its only a rent, not a game worth spending money on.

I know that those suffering for a good game want Heavenly Sword to be some godsend and in the end it will be a good game, but a killer app it is not....the game does not do anything new at all...which is fine as long as they do the basics well.itsallgood29

I played the demo several times too and there is just no way you can past judgment on the game with such a short demo, i mean it lasts for about 5 to 10 minutes with 1 30 second cut scene.

I personally cant wait til its released.

I've played NG soo much on my Xbox and NGB.

when I rented NGS the combat just felt stale to me and I couldn't even finish the game.

at least Heavenly sword felt Fresh and puts more feeling into the killing.

with Ryu it just felt like he was screaming all the time when he does the killing.

Very ******* annoying after a while.

Yeah, after you compare this to Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Heavenly Sword feels like a button masher.HS looks better than NGS though imo. I also read somewhere that HS will be short. Heavenly Sword will definately be a rental.

it was indeed a dissapointment...graphics werent that hot and the gameplay is just button mashing..the final game better have more too it!

plus the animations seem to be halfed for the movements or something..i thought that from the first time i saw the game and its still no different.

HELL mode is available right off the bat, yes.
Bare in mind, that what you're playing now is a level early on in the story, you can scrape through it just by mashing buttons - try that in the later chapters and you'll get your (gorgeous) ass handed to you on a plate...

I heard today that we had to prove to Sony that the game could be completed in Hell Mode... a couple of ninja's managed it I believe. Seems the testers didn't! Hehe.

i played it and pretty much hated it. not a fan of games that copy other games outright. i have to agree with shane kim on MS passing on this game, he knew what he was talking about.

and whats with the demo being all of 3 minutes long if you know how to play (which ain't that hard).

NGS just destroys this in every way. and DMC? it shouldn't even be breathed in the same sentence as HS.

Yeah, to be honest, that is the one thing that disturbed me. Not being able to jump, in any game, is unacceptable. Even in R6 I feel like I should be able to hop now and then. I'd really like a jump button. Still getting this game though, jump button or not.

The demo was too damn short to make a definite judgement. Based on the demo, everything was alright...... nothing special. We'll see how it goes once the game is released.

last thing I want to do is shoot at someone and he's jumping up and down like a damn rabbit. that game is fine the way it is. yes it annoying not being able to go over a 2 foot box, but hey its been like that since the original on the pc. it didn't hurt the game then, it doesn't hurt now. in my opinion I hate the fact that they even added Sharpshooter in the game, now people don't have the patience to play survival anymore, which in my opinion is the best Rainbow. (OPINION!)

Agreed. NGB was the best and is really great still. NGS improves upon NGB and feels amazing. DMC has always been fun and so has GoW, but they are still nowhere near NG and I doubt Heavenly Sword will be better than any of them tbh. Heavenly Sword will probably end up being a solid game, but I have to keep in mind the developers. They haven't done much and what they have done isn't so great.

dude, relax you are taking this to another level. I have to agree with other people, your original post was down on the game, but in the end you still think its going to get an 8.5. it can't be that bad if it will get an 8.5.

if you would have typed, I give it a 6.5, but I think it will be reviewed higher like 8.5 I think people would have understood you better. I don't think this has anything to do with not knowing how to read. all that is just not needed here.

Im honestly starting to wonder if the demo bashing is on porpuse .Butthenagainforza2's demo was bashed, and every single big gaming source has nothing, but had great responses towards the demo so I really dont mind the random people that bash it .
