the game isnt just hack and slash you must counter to win even the non boss fights.deavincalhoun
Eh, it was pretty much hack-n-slash. And not a very fun one at that. Countering was not intuitive, and it was lame that you had to spear an enemy while he was down in order to finish him in most cases.
The game also lacked enemy variety and the puzzles were brain-deadening. Overall, a very underwhelming experience (coming from someone who hyped this game to no end).

Well obviously you were dissappointed if you hyped the game to no end... But to people who didn't really know/care about it at first, it will be a great game...

I grant you that, but I don't know if most people would call it "great"...8.0 was a bit generous, and in my personal review I would have given it something like a 7.7 if GS allowed it.
The battle system just isn't as fun as something like Ninja Gaiden or even button-mashy God of War. It's hard to pin-point a particular reason, but one of them is the color-based blocking/countering system which tried to do something innovative but fell flat on its face.
It's a great game, my favorite PS3 exclusive(this isnt saying much), but it's no God of War, and it's short as hell.
On the topic of renting. The devs get money from games sales right? How much money do they get from these places that rent their game like blockbuster and gamefly? munu9
Do you not think the place who rents these games have to PAY for them?
I just finished playing the demo, and I am less than impressed.
Is it just me, or does the game lack a viable combo system? Not only that but there are hordes of enemies, and her weapons are soo short ranged.

The demo is honestly a bad representation of the game. Rent it if you don't wanna spend the money, but it is a very good game with top notch voice acting and cut scenes. The gameplay wasn't revelotionary or anything, but it was still fun. The boss was a pain in the ass though, reminded me of Ninja Gaiden boss fights...

The only boss I found hard was the second version of Firefox because the health was hard to get to other then that the last boss was pretty easy if you countered his throwing spells.

Bioshock is definitely better than HS

No, but is it that simple, just pay $60 for each copy of game they're going to rent? Or do they have to pay some other fees? Or maybe a flat fee to rent as many copy's of the games as they want?
in the words of flying fox, "BOORRRRIIIIING!!!!!!"
j/k. i had fun. except for with the six axis parts. i turned it off and just used the analog stick because it was frustrating with the six axis controls. and some parts did have that dynasty warriors feel to it, but overall it was good

You do know a bear have to be a cub first? Give it time to grow. I like the direction they took it. Also, the story was a good one.
Im so happy i rented thisgame the last boss gifht was awesome and hard, but the overall experience was wow. the graphics , voice acting. the game isnt just hack and slash you must counter to win even the non boss fights.
