E3 2008 is just about done, but before that, there's a few more bullets left in its clip. One good example of that is Heavy Rain by French-based devs Quantic Dream. The game is a PlayStation 3 exclusive and it was shown to a crowd with one little catch.

The catch is that there's an NDA in effect that means those who saw what was there to be seen can't talk about it. Well, at least not on mass media channels. TwitterBerry reported that the Heavy Rain demo "wowed the crowd" and they left a little hint by adding "we can't say more other than if you liked Indigo Prophecy, you'll 'love' this."

Pretty intriguing stuff, eh? Quantic Dream has had a good reputation with games like Omikron and Fahrenheit through the years, and we're optimistic they can deliver, if not surpass those nice titles in Heavy Rain.

Indigo Prophecy (Fahrenheit) was a blast to play. That's why I have pretty high hopes for this game.

It was shown behind closed doors at e3. I think it will be revealed to the public during Liepzig.

This seems to be the best site for info on the game - including links to every dev. interview so far:

This game might do for PS3 what Half Life 2 did for PC.

It's going to popularise physics-based puzzles in the adventure game genre? Pioneer the digital distribution movement?
Oh, I guess that you meant the whole 'digital drama' thing. If so, then...we'll see.

It's one thing to make an emotionally moving tech demo that runs for a few minutes, and another to keep it up for a whole ten hour game - especially when their last game totally fell apart 2/3rds of the way through.

Quantic Dreams last gen game for PS2, Xbox, and PC, Indigo Prophecy Demo is less than 300mb and a recommended download. It won Adventure GOTY at Gamespot for the year of it's release.
