French developer Quantic Dream, the studio behind the upcoming Heavy Rain, has spoken at length about sexes in game and the difference between sexual relations and porn. Sexy!

"There are a couple of sex scenes, but it's definitely not porn," Quantic Dream boss David Cage told PSM3. "We don't intend to push the boundaries and be ultra-realistic in every detail. It's about real characters having emotions and doing what adults do when they fall in love.

The studio is making an adult game. Adult movies have nudity. They also have sex. Not all of them, though. Unfortunately.

Sex and nudity are a part of life. And if the studio is going to depict the real world for adults, then maybe its characters will take off their clothes. Maybe they'll fall in love. Maybe they'll have sex. And that's okay.

The game has already sparked a dialogue about the key difference between sex and sexy.

I think David Cage puts too much hype on this game. What do you think??

I remember that his previous game had a bunch of awkward and completely out of place sex-scenes in it, so hopefully he'll work on that and actually give them a reason to be in this game.

I mean, hm, sex without some kind of narrative purpose or emotional depth would probably just count as porn.

A little old but I really like the character development that Cage is using by making it as realistic as possible

Heh yes, the more you think about that one the more you wish you hadn't.

Although I was thinking more that that scene just felt completely out of place. I don't really remember those characters having much of an emotional connection or even knowing eachother that well, and then suddenly...bam, sex scene.

Then there was that QTE sex-scene (why?), and I wouldn't be surprised if there was other random nudity in the game, too.

will be great when we get past all this school boy attitude towards sex in games. and its just accepted like it would be in a movie. if the content is aimed at adults then their really is not a problem.

This is the norm in real life, so it almost suits the game... Apart from the terrible context it's put in.

FOX dubbed xbox, "sexbox" for the side profile sex scene in ME. I wonder what they are going to dub the ps3 for this.tonyleo01
