Heavy Rain demo kind of out in case you didn't know.

How to get.
Apparently the site is getting pummeled. As in, it's down. But they're bound to get it working sometime before the official demo date (11th) I'm guessing.

Managed to get it through a dummy account. Doesn't do as good a job as the Fahrenheit demo at grabbing your attention. Two separate scenes. Not so much mind-candy. Doesn't really bother setting things up, giving context, hooks or planting "what if?"s in your head, seems to be more for familiarizing players with the various control methods. Which kind of makes sense as David Cage has said he didn't want the demo to spoil anything. So the narrowminded folks around these parts will probably hate it.

I managed to get a code from the site about 40 minutes ago after trying to get one all day.

The download is being painfully slow, though.

I feel like a demo for this kind of game isn't a good idea. most people who are on the edge about buying it will test it out and think "The whole game is like this!? BORING!!!" and then not buy it since the demo won't give you much insight into the story

This is pretty much why I want to play it. The less time I have to spend learning the controls and stuff on release day the better.

got it downloading. its 28% done.. im not even sure if im gonna play it. i dont want anything to be spoiled.... who am i kidding, of course ill play it.. the game is gonna be amazing

Yeah I mean I've already pre ordered my copy. In a way I'm anticipating this more than I am GoW3 just because I know GoW3 will be awesome and I know what to expect. Heavy Rain's story from what I know so far is really intriguing

But yeah, I'm hoping this is an earlier build. I managed to stumble onto a bug myself, where Norman turned his head but his shades were left suspended in midair as I was about to put them away.

I think I'm going to pass, watching some of the gameplay videos already makes me get the feeling the story will be somewhat spoiled for me.

There is a fight in one of the demo scenes, so I'm sure that will please some. If this had just been a demo like we saw of the very beginning of the game (getting out of bed, showering, brushing your teeth, etc.), there would be a lot of disappointment, even though that isn't how the whole game is.

Just got done playing it for the first time and... I love it. I found the movement to be a little awkward at first but it didn't take much getting used to at all. What surprised me most is how engrossed I was in the whole thing, even though you don't really find out anything about what's going on. I really was genuinely interested in what the characters were saying. The fight scene is pretty intense, too.
