Same here. I think these games are what we have closer to the old adventure games like Monkey Island, Beneath a Steel Sky, Universe, etc!

I agree. I hope these games are big hits. So we can start seeing more stuff like this not just horror, thrillers. I used to love king's quest and police quest and space quest and monkey island, maniac mansion, zach mccracken, the dig, gabriel knight and all that stuff. I played all of them as a kid. I was a loser lol. They really could make a comeback and have more walking around puzzle solving with mini games. Alone in the dark was sort of like that and the original resident evil but they were more shooters with walking around doing puzzles as well. I used to like just walking around figuring stuff out and having action sequences put into the game as like minigames. i've never been a big shooter person. I never really liked Myst either.... I was more the walking around, 3rd person, with action incorporated and a real life open world type thing. GTA is sort of that but not really lol.... It's sad when I've had to rely on GTA for my fix of those kind of games. I just hope they can make more story driven games with different themes and not just survival/horror stuff. GAmes like Police Quest where you could go to different locals in different order and solve things in different ways and change the outcome of the game were awesome. I like how in that video she can either escape or fight the guy. That is so cool to me.
I think im more "open minded" considering i love most genres like shooters, RPGs, etc....:P Just kidding
I mean, I used to be a big adventure fan (i played most games you posted on my PC and Amiga500) but these days i think i need more than simple point and clic. This is why Heavy Rain and Alan Wake looks so great. They are the natural evolution of the genre with 21 century technology and controls imo!
well so do I. I wouldn't own a console if I didn't. I like rpgs as well and am open minded. If I wasn't I wouldn't like games like this. I even can stand a good first person shooter these days although it's not my preferenec. Blizzard games are my favorite. I also really like sports games although that might make some people vomit. But yeah, sports, action adventures, rpg's are my thing. I also really like racing games. And good RTS's like starcraft or civilization. To be honest 1st person shooters are probably my least favorite genre though although they can be fun for a few mindless laughs every once in a while. Also not big on puzzle/board games and jrpg's.
But I agree. These kind of games were a dead issue for a while but you can see what they can do with todays technology. It's just nice to see them making a comeback since this was one of my kicks as a kid.
