Heavy Rain will be THE PS3 game to own next year!

Shane from 1UP just got to see Heavy Rain and talk to David Cage (head at Quantic Dream). This game sounds absolutely phenomenal. Yes, it's going to have a lot of QTE's, but it's only because the game will be very cinematic, and make it unlike any other gaming experience you've ever had. It's a game made for adults, and not just with immature violence. This will be a true mature game with a mature storyline. I've been hyped on this one since I saw "The Casting", and because I also enjoyed Quantic Dream's 2 previous works. I expect Heavy Rain to be a AAA game, no doubt about it. Especially since they only have to develop for one platform this time around.

We're not talking about credibility here. Everyone says this game looks great, and 1UP also has good shows and podcasts, even if you don't like their reviews or previews.

I'm interested , but I don't take Shane too seriously. He is entertaining though.

I'll withhold my hype until we see some more substantial gameplay footage. I will say, however, that this game has more potential than the vast majority of 2009 releases put together. espoac

I think Heavy Rain and Alan Wake will be the 2 best games next year (if they both come out, that is). Both are very different in gameplay and tone to pretty much anything out there, and it'll make them feel new and exciting. Not to mention, both games have great devs behind them.

I mean, looking back at other adventure games that I've played with QTEs...there's Broken Sword 3 (which was terrible), and Fahrenheit (the last third of which was terrible). It's certainly not a common feature of adventure games, and has never been done well enough to account for the lack of puzzle solving found in those games.
