I'm a Helldiver. True and blue. I think Arrowhead makes some of the best games around and I followed helldivers development from way back in the day. Couldn't wait for it. it delivered on every level it's even better today with a community still diving.
But what are your thoughts on Helldivers 2? I don't want to be pessimistic, but diminishing returns are so strong on fps and tps games that as soon as I saw the perspective shift from the freshness of top down, live action strategizing to third person I kind of cringe... I mean, must we?
It feels, at least to me that helldivers 2 is a similar game to the first with a perspective shift. Why was this necessary and does it reduce or increase your excitement for the game?
I love parity and while top down shooters are not a new thing Helldivers presented a frenetic collaboration strategy experience that not many games capture effectively. Does the new perspective threaten great gameplay? And does it just feel less appealing knowing youre doing the third person shooter stuff again? It kind of does for me.
