I own PS2 and PSP and I want to add two more consoles to my collection.

For Summer I am looking for a cheap handheld or console that is in range of $150.00.

My Options are

XBOX - $100

NDS- $130

Gamecube - $60

For Fall I am looking forward to buy a Next gen Console.

X360 - $400 (I really hope there is a price drop after 2 years)

PS3 - $600 (Over priced, but as u can see I only bought sony consoles before)

Wii - $250 (Innovative, but the games haven't caught my eye)

What do u suggest?

Dont get a gamecube or a xbox. you can just play the games on the new consoles (Wii and 360) instead.

So get a NDS in the summer, and in Fall get a next gen.

I'd say get a 360. you said the wii hasnt caught your attention on the games aspect, so chances are you wont like it. PS3 is over priced, but u might like the games, and 360 has many games as well

Its a video game console, yet it lacks games

its overpriced. Fancy smanshy things like Blu-ray dont matter if it cant produce good games, when its a friggin VIDEO GAME CONSOLE.

The PS2 was great, it had the GAMES. At least the 360 has good titles to play, and so does the Wii. The Wii has more things to play than the PS3, even though its has ports, their FUN and are great games still.

Get a DS for the summer, getting the xbox or GC is worthless because the games are backwards compatible, so you might as well just get the nextgen version of them. I think that you should definetly get a 360, it has so many great games, but you should also look into getting a wii too, since it is also a great console

Only thing that would matter to me is the 360 though.I thinkby Fall when you're getting a new console it will have the price drop.

DS in the summer that's for sure (PSWii60 all have BC). Well for fall, more games are to be announced at E3, so you're gonna have to wait.

ds for sure for your summer choice. fall is a tough one...i wouldn't decide until that time comes. by then, metroid prime 3 will be out and will likely show us what the wii is or is not capable of in many respects. if there are going to be any price cuts this year, they will likely be announced in the not too distant future. anyway, the 360 has a ton of great games and great online play. i, for one though, am beginning to really appreciate my ps3. games will come to this system too. if you have the money come fall, i'd probably go for the ps3. as good as the 360 lineup is right now (and will be for the remainder of the year), i have a feeling that the ps3 is about to bring it...

In reality you are better off asking this question on console boards. Yes you will get only answers related to that console but it will much quieter and people will focus on your issue rather than competing with one another but to answer the topic i would say get a ps3, it's got a ton of great games coming, very good hardware just a great console overall in my opinion.

I would say get a PS3 since you can always play your old PS2 games on it. You'll have some returning franchises this fall such as Ratchet and Clank and SOCOM. In addition, you'll have new IPs such as Heavenly Sword, Lair, and Uncharted to name a few.

Sony is constantly adding new features to the PS3 such as up-scaling PS and PS2 games. It also allows for remote play using your PSP (don't know what game if any takes advantage of this but its still a new little feature).

However, the 360 does have Halo 3, Mass Effect, and Too Human coming up this fall as well.

The DS has a massive library so you couldn't go wrong with that purchase. The Wii is also a wonderful system that can play gamecube games. Since the Wii has a large installed base, you can bet devs are currently coming up with games to meet the demand. A few that stick out in my mind are Metriod Prime and Super Smash Brothers.

But in the end itdepends on what games appeal to you the most. Since your experience has been with Sony I would say stick with it.

Good Luck.

360 is the new PS2, people don't want to admit it, but it's true.

If you enjoyed your PS1/2 because of the great variety etc, do your research on games before buying a PS3 out of habit, X360 is getting most of what PS3 gets(mostly minus1st party), plus it's own exclusives, plus a crapload of PC ports not currently going to PS3.X360 is also cheaper and (currently) has a much better online service although you have to pay for it.

If however you are a big fan of Sony's 1st party stuff (which is top notch, God of War, Socom etc), or you are highly interested in it's big name exclusives (MGS4, FF)you may want to stick with them.

PS3 is looking to be the next Xbox, by that I mean it gets its share of awesome exclusives, has better hardware but right now the software is lacking.

As far as the GCN, Xbox, DS thing, that will change with what you choose to buy in the fall. For instance as someone already said, if you plan to buy 360, most (not all, check xbox.com to see which are BC) of the big titles will be playable on your new system. GCN had some really stellar 1st party stuff but you could play that on the Wii. DS isa great handheld but I have found I don't play handhelds much.
