Help me understand what is so good about halo and halo2 * I'm a Xbox360 owner*

( sorry for bad spelling , im not american )

This is not from any fanboy. I have had psone ps2 but bought 360 now since ps3 in my opinion screwed it. So I have boughta lotof good games for my 360 , amongst them gears of war.

Anyway , since i never had a xbox i decided to buy the halo box , With halo , halo 2 and halo map pack. I tough i was really going to enjoy those games , since they have got so good scores everywhere and have sold so good.

But i played trough both games and they seriously left me very disappointed. I don't understand what makes those games so good , maybe is this since i have played so many fps games on the computer but really. the only thing that was surprisingly good was the sound imo.

the weapons were boring , and the shooting action was the same for the entire games, notto mention the very linear levels.Its just the same thing over and over again for 10 hours. the enemies looks stupid , no cool enemies whatsoever , and the most annoying ones was the small ones that always yells. the prophets looks real stupid also, and the sniper enemies.The stories as simple as it can be.

Also in the multiplayer there was nothing new except kids yelling.

Al in all this was one of the most ordinary fps games i have played... so what makes this game so good is my question.

Its has fun multiplayer and singleplayer, a good story (thats opinion), Halo CE had great AI for its time, its weapons were very balanced. It gave you choices on how you wanted to complete the level, and it was paced well.

I just like it becuse its fun and i like the storyline/halo universe

EDIT: picking up weapons is part of stategy i guess, i dunno. Worked melee and made grenades really important in combat

its just fun i love to play it splitscreen wit my friends it was also the reason why i bought the first xbox and cuz my ps2 had the disc read error :cry:

It could just be that you played many current PC FPs games

shooting down a banshee with a turret and sticking a truck with three guys in it with a plama grenade just the thought of it gives me goosebumps! and the main campaign is pretty good to not so much in halo2 though.mercenar3

read this site's and other site's reviews on the games...system wars is not a good place to look for opions on games...especially halo.

the reviews give a good generalization on why halo is great. and consider the time the games were released. halo ce is a 2001 game and i still have a blast in it's multiplayer every now and then

Plain and simply put, the multiplayer is fantastic. No two games will be the same. There are so many variables that effect the gameand teamplay is a must. Halo 3 is even more teambased than the first two in terms of multiplayer.

Only Halo fans are praising it, it will hardly sell as much as Halo 2, I'm sure of it espescially with the number of 360 owners.

Put simply the game is hella fun.. This was the first FPS I really REALLY enjoyed and that's what keeps me coming back for more... It borrows from alot of FPS's but it blends those elements very well into one complete package. If you don't like it then That's completely cool ( I personally think MP is ass but that's just me).

It's still only deathmatch ala everything you can found on any cheap FPS on PC.

Hell, Jedi Knight 2 duel were far more impressive than any deathmatch fps I have tried. Even the death match were better due to lightsabers.

If you have put some serious time into at least Halo and you don't get what makes the Halo games so great then there is NOTHING at all that I can possibly say to make you see and feel what it is about them that is special. So I won't.

Some people get certain games and some people get others and that is all there is to it. No one can explain why you are unable to find the brilliance in Halo that most other people who have played it have found.

Enjoy whatever games you enjoy.

It was the biggest let down I played in my life espescially with all the fanatic hype surrounding it. A mere 7 at max... the character design is so bad, I almost fall under my chair.

Almost every single biased review... ask someone on the street if he really like Halo. I know more peoples playing games that hate it than peoples that love it.

Also, I think that at the time I was having a Radeon 9800 pro wich was one of the best card at this time, so Halo Xbox can shove it, there was multiplayer online with the PC version which the xbox version was lacking.

Every single review of Halo on PC has been average whereas every single review of Halo on Xbox has been great. I would think you would play it on Xbox to get a true feel for how the game is supposed to feel and play etc. Also play it for longer than 30 mins. Christ it takes that long to complete a single level, and the levels don't get really interesting until you land on the beach etc. Then decide if you like it or not.

I really cannot believe there are people who are using the PC version to decide if the game is any good. The game was made for Xbox and in every way it works better on that platform, because it was designed to work on that platform from the get-go, and it does...

If you would have played them as they were released and not years later... You would have known. Old games never impress people like they used to... Because games get better.

Halo has a good story, it's fun to play and with another person I may add. The AI is great and not dumb like most shooters. The environments change alot with the story. It makes you feel like you are the chief.
