I am 39 with two daughters and a girl (their mother) for 20+ years, so try again. Like I said earlier, you are just an insecure manchild. Some day you will feel secure enough in your manhood to grasp how ignorant your comments are about Nintendo games. Now had you said Nintendo games are kid friendly, then I would have agreed with you. And I don't really know how the girl is in my sig. Just grabbed it off the net to slap on here when the took away my option to have my old sig. I'm not even sure that would work. It seems 3rd party would thumb their nose up at those or just give them sloppy ports. What incentive would they have to take advantage of this new hardware when 2/3 of the console market cant use it?

I don't know, but maybe he's been with her long enough to view her as more than a girlfriend. Maybe they don't need a piece of paper to make their relationship "official". I don't know Amazon at all so I shouldn't be speaking for him.

It might work if third parties get a third ecosystem to market to without having to worry about making their games 'next next gen.' Think of it as cross gen, but with the next Nintendo console. Meanwhile, Nintendo pushes exclusives that do demonstrate the power of the console, sales start picking up, Sony and Microsoft are forced to introduce a new console, and then Nintendo gets third party parity too.

It's a long shot, and no company has managed to pull it off yet, but really, it's the best option Nintendo has, either that or leave the console market entirely and go handheld only.

@charizard1605: I would be ecstatic if that happens, unfortunately, you and I both know that publishers are trying to save money. They're not going to waste their time just to port a game to a different architecture that has their own demands. Even if the Wii U is the more efficient architecture, there is a reason why x86 remained the standard and why Apple software support ballooned when they made the switch to Intel in 2005.

Nintendo Doesn't need saving.. it just needs to fire whoever is in charge of the Console and bring whoever is in charge of the handhelds to the console.

Sorry, I should have been clearer, the implication was that they will switch to x86 too.

release a proper console and people will flock back to nintendo. The reason nintendo gets crappy third party support is that nobody wants to deal with trying to get their games to run on such a weak console. Also last gen proved with the wii that people who have a wii or wii u don't buy them to play big third party games anyway.

Release a REAL console. Not something that barely beats the previous gens consoles. Release something that compete with what is currently out there.

Do not make casuals your focus. The Wii was a flash in a pan. It was the "it" device that year. Cheap. Did something new and cool and had a nice buzz about it. This is why casuals bought in in droves. They didn't buy it because they were gamers. Nintendo should have seen that this was not sustainable. Casuals cannot sustain the console business. It can boost it if you are lucky enough but casual will not go out and buy 4 to 5 games a year. They will not go out and buy a new console because they have the older one. They aren't brand loyal they just want what is popular at the time.

Refocus on the core gamer. Core gamers want new and exciting things. Core gamers who have been playing games at wii u levels for 7 years now are not going to shell out money on a system that does what their current system can do. Unless you were a die hard nintendo fan there is nothing remotely appealing about the wii u. It is a little bit more powerful than the PS360 which would have been awesome 10 years ago. In 2013 not so awesome. It has next to no third party support either so you want people to pay $350 to play mario? Most gamers will pass.

Nintendo should market the wii u as what it is. A casual kid friendly console for playing party games with friends and family and release a REAL nextgen device that competes with the the PSOne. This whole not trying to compete with MS and Sony is the wrong idea. Instead of bowing out of competition and releasing a console as poor as the wii u, Nintendo should have embraced it and went toe to toe once again and release a really awesome device. Trust me people would buy it and are still interested in a proper offering from Nintendo.

Instead nintendo bet on casuals and they are paying for it because casuals are interested in fads not games and consoles.

The only people who want them to go third party are stubborn ingrates who whine about the games but dont buy the consoles, the console is made for the games you want, you want them, BUY THE CONSOLE, its not that complicated

Only Nintendo can save Nintendo. Cut $100 off that last-gen console and I'll buy a Wii U.

I dont respect companies that letting their customers out on cold when they are loyal and spend thousands of money on Nintendo products. Last time i remember Wii getting dumped too early , having ridiculously bad third party support and being on life support the last 2 years of its life ( only 2 games worth mention ) despite the fact that it was far ahead on hardware sales...

Then you have companies like Sony where had the worst possible losses a company can have , 6 billions and counting , when one of the reasons for these loses was PS3 but still, as we speak , they providing solid exclusives , despite all the losses and the third place in console wars.

So if ill ever feel like buying a console where my money will go ? To the best value which is non else than Sonys consoles = Playstation. Period. Nintendo can die all they want those cheapy , greedy asians. I would care less.Because they have 2 solid IPs , 1 platformer and 1 adventure , doesnt mean ill go cry or something. Main mario and main Zelda games that is.
