Help! should I get PC or a console if I want to enjoy GTA 4

Hi everyone, I need your advice, I have been gaming for the past two years on my inspiron 1520 laptop, I wanted to get a new system soon, what I really want is a gaming PC, however I'm a HUGE fan of the GTA games and I really want to play GTA 4 and enjoy it at it's best performance, problem is I heard the PC version is a terrible port, I don't know if it is possible to run GTA 4 at maximum settings even on a very powerful PC, and I'm not sure how bad the bugs are...I just hear a lot of negative remarks about the PC version, so do you know if this is true? Will I need to get a console to enjoy GTA 4? cant decide PC or PS3/360

GTA4 may not be the best pc port but its still miles ahead of the console version that is a sub 30fps blurry mess. I own both versions btw.

If you have a powerful cpu then it will look a lot better than the console version. Also, you can use trainers for quick save which is a big plus imo.

I only have the 360 version, but get the PC version.

E.G Online, graphics, Mods :P , A video mode thingy and other stuff.

Vanilla GTAIV is better on PC. It features traffic density control, draw distance configurations and a replay editor. The replay editor allows players to record and edit game clips, which can then be uploaded to Rockstar's Social Club website. It also includes 32 player multiplayer, double that of the console versions. The graphics have been enormously improved and sharpened as well. You also get mods, which have been a huge part of PC GTA games. If you want the expansion packs your better off going with the 360 version, though.

I'd say it's a pretty bad port since you need a freaking powerful PC for a game that shouldn't require such power. However, if you own a really powerful PC and can play GTAIV without the problems I had (in order to play it with good FPS I had to make it look worse than the 360 version) I'd recommend the PC version.

To help you further, these specs aren't good enough for GTAIV:

Geforce 8800GTX, 2GB RAM, Intel Core 2 Duo, etc.

If you've got a powerful rig... get the PC version... if not... 360 is the place to be.

PC only cause higher res, better graphics, MODS like NEW CARS and characters.
