I wanted to play NHL 09 last night on PSN and not only found enough vs games but also som online team play games. this is why free PSN is better because dedicated servers are still running for NHL 09 even when nhl10 is out, but if you were stuck with a 360 you would need to buy NHL 10 to play hockey online.
How about not playing old, crappy games that everyone has sold already? I own both and PSN is crap compared to Live. I havnt turned on my PS3 ever since i beat Uncharted 2! I will tonight though since i have a BFBC2 beta code! :D Time to attempt to play a FPS with the dual shock now! :P

The servers will still be up for 09 on 360 as well. It all runs through EA's own servers.

I would guess like cross game chat, party chat, early access to demo's.

i would be surprised if the servers on the free version dropped in quality and we started to see alot more lag on psn.
the way sony has been know to screw over the customer. it wouldn't be surprised if started to screw over the people who don't pay for a subscription.

This makes no sense whatsoever. First, EA runs their own servers. Second, when EA decides to shut down those servers you will no longer be able to play. This discussion has nothing to with PSN vs Xbox Live.
Um, i dont understand. Does it not run off EA servers? They're still up on the 360 as well. :? You dont need to buy NHL 10 any more than PS3 owners do, you can still play NHL 09 exactly the same. :? yes when i started up the game, usually it says "connecting to EA servers" this time it said something different without the EA part.

NHL 10 is running off EA servers right now, 09 is running off dedicated PSN servers. Making things up is never good. EA servers are up and running perfectly fine on NHL 09. It even says 'up and running' on the server status on the website. Dont lie.
