Hermits are arrogant...?

Okay, I've been meaning to post this before but decided not to then, because I know I'll be flamed over this. I decided to do it anyway now because I realised I don't care being flamed anyway.

Hermits have the reputation to be arrogant here on SW. Of course a lot of the things that are said on SW are not true, so obviously it should be taken with a pinch of salt. Now I don't want to be generalizing here because I know there must be a lot of modest hermits around here. But I can't fail but noticing that nine out of ten times when I read a post that clearly has a tone of arrogance and the feeling of being superior, it's posted by a hermit. And not just one hermit that posts a lot, but I've seen lots and lots of hermits post in this way. So what I'm wondering is: is it just me? Or do more people have the feeling that there's actually truth in the SW stigma? Please discuss..

Hermits are at the top of the food chain. they can do w/e the **** they want and get away with it because they have the best specs, best games, best everything. They have every right to be arrogant...unlike the other fanboys.

Hermits are only 2nd to Manticores.

Lems are arrogant to X fanboys too.

Stolen from House but still when you're at the top of the food chain you're allowed to have a bit of arrogance.

Hermits are so used to winning in pretty much every debate. That's the reason.

I also suspect that you get consolites who attack hermits as elistists after and because they lose the debate.

And some hermits just plain out act like that. Some of them are probably doing so sarcastically though.

Hermits are very myopic i feel, short sighted, their vision is small.

I myself have a gaming crysis that can run Crysis on everything HIGH (I'LL PROVE IT if i HAVE TO DO SOME OWNAGE)

But other than crysis, c&c3, unreal3, cs:s, tf2 and Wc3:ft (mainly ...RTS and FPS u can see )..

i feel there's a much wider variety of games that are suited on consoles. RPGs, Action, Sports, Racing, Fighting are all much suited to consoles. DMC4 on the PC, I love it on the ps3 controller and can't imagine playing it with the keyboard. Imagine playing soul caliber 4 on PC and doing all those combos doing the keyboard. I'd rather lie back on my sofa and enjoy 10hrs worth of action and cutscenes of MGS4 or even go through an RPG marathon. Sorry, its just more better on conoles for a much more variety of game besides RTS and FPS .. I detest being a hermit, but having a good pc + console is a good way of gaming. and not just PC alone.

Yes they are arrogant, but they shouldn't be. They are missing out on many great console games. I would rather play games like Ninja Gaiden 2, Mario Galaxy, Brawl, Halo 3, Banjoe ect, than RTS numer 1000. I installed Diablo 2 again the other day, and I'm bored of it again already, and that is to me the best PC game ever made.

The way they look down upon console gamers is pathetic. 90% of console gamers could buy a gaming PC if they wanted to. They chose not to because they are having a blast on their chosen platform.

Basically, every group has a preferred stereotype. Some of that is mired in a bit of reality. For Hermits, it's because there are a lot of very effective counter responses to their system's perceived weaknesses, so much so that Hermits constantly re-use them, hence arrogance breeds.

Of course, that's over-generalising. I've seen plenty of topics where fanboys say very similar things, but get called very different things.

For example, I see many posts on here from Cows and Lemmings arguing the Wii shouldn't be included on System Wars, and is purely a domain of casuals. To me, this seems like the height of arrogance, yet I've never seem Sheep call them arrogant or elitist, as the moniker has never been applied to them before.

The poster seems unaware that objectively, the PC has the most diverse library of exclusive games this generation (see Nerdman's thread).

The hyperbole of the comment will obviously draw arrogant responses.
