There's a new goldeneye out for the wii and it's a great game.

Would have been good if it was in HD, and had a better controller to play it on (Classic Controller and Gamecube controller are not too great for FPS).
Also, I know HD isn't "needed" but it sure as heck would make seeing things a bit easier on the eyes. Here's hoping Nintendo at least goes 720p next gen... :?

well, HD graphics are nice, but that didn't stop super mario galaxy 2 from being the best game of 2010.
And the gamecube controller is the best controller ever made 8)

Nintendo would be fools to not go HD next gen >.< Goldeneye actually does look pretty crisp in HD though. Google it and you'll find other Wii games in HD.
And it has Wiimote + nunchuck. Better than controller for FPS. Classic controller is pretty good for this game imo. Like it better than the 360 controller due to being more like a Dualshock controller. Pretty darn light to boot.

That has a lot to do with the fact that you could see most of what happened in SMG2. Goldeneye has too many dark colors to work well without HD in this day and age.
With that said, I love the gamecube controller. However, I stand by my opinion that it's still horrible for shooters.

they won't skimp on the hardware next gen, trust me. I mean, if they don't have a whole other new innovation in their next console, they'll have to go back to using top of the line hardware.
Even if they do have a new innovation, they'll at least have wii graphics in 1080p or something...
IDK, i just can't see them behind the times next gen.

Ugh, not for FPS games it wasn't. I remember trying to play Geist on that thing. An innovative FPS that would have otherwise been amazing was thwarted by that piece of crap controller.

no seriously, how dare you.
TC, it's probably not exactly what you would be expecting but try Vanquish. By far the best recommendation in this thread yet :P

Oh ya I have no doubt they won't pull another Wii. I mean their handheld is already current gen with (IMO,) Wii level graphics at slightly lower resolution (Due to the 3D screen.) The biggest complaint has to be the lack of good (technical) visuals. Heck I'm fine with the Wii graphics now. They just need 1080p because they're really blurry scaled from 480p. AND they really need the extra power for some AA cause every Wii game needs that.
I'd like the same thing we have now except with improved IR tracking, 1080p (And even higher if possible :P) resolution, 7.1 surround, HDMI of course, 3D enabled, and a proper online system similar to Steam or PSN. So basically take the PS3 and toughen it up :D
Bioshock 2 is another real good one if you like some exploration and an actual story with your corridor shooters.

It not a corridor shooter.:x
Yeah, I suppose you're right. There's too many open environments for that. Still, TC should play it or he's gonna miss out on one of the all time greatest shooters.
I regret to inform you that in this day and age, there is no such thing as a corridor shooter. All shooters take place in an open, believable world where there are multiple paths, sometimes thousands of options for you to take in order to defeat your enemies and traverse terrain, advancing towards your objective. I know what you're thinking, how awful. Please, give us some drab, cut and paste corridors with some neverending enemies that we must grind through to reach objective X. It's really a nightmare, to be truthful.I wish there was a Goldeneye for 360/PS3, just imagine the graphics and capabilities.

You sold the Wii so you pretty much passed up every corridor shooter. Metro 2033 is the closest thing I could think of on 360 but its FAR better to play on PC.
