It seems like Blu-Ray is. Its way better than HD-DVD. Blu-Ray has more space, more studios and higher quality.

I think it's going to stalemate with dual-format players out there.

Why even back HD-DVD. It has nothing going for it. Not one single thing.

overall you are right that blu-ray will probably win. while it does have extra space, imo, hd-dvd actually has a better picture quality. the reason is has more studios behind it is because sony owns half of them and because of all the additional security measures....and usually extra security measures screws the consumer as if you don't have part a, b, and c, it downgrades the picture. just my opinion.

I beg to differ on the "higher quality" part. You can read many HD-DVD vs Blu-Ray article's online, and most of them say HD-DVD has the slight edge in video quality. HD-DVD is better IMO, it usually has better features then Blu-Ray, not to mention it's cheaper, Blu-Ray is only winning because of the PS3 and because it has better marketing going for it. This is like VHS vs Betamax all over again. And yes Betamax offerd better picture quality then VHS, but still lost...

Better picture quality, cheaper then Blu-Ray, HD-DVD movies usually have better features. That's three things right there. All Blu-Ray has going for it is more space and better marketing, not to mention that putting one on the PS3 has basicly forced the format down everyone's throats. But the true movie buffs and videophiles know which format is really the best.
