It does make you wonder why the Kinect has to be plugged in, if you can turn everything off, why cant we just unplug it?

Giving your data to the goverment is one thing, selling it to another corporation without your consent is a whole different story and apparently illegal.
Not saying the former is a good thing but it isn't the same as the latter and MS wouldn't be the first to do it.
