With the advent of Lair being a record-setting flop, I say that it's time for us lemmings to stop letting the cows have all the fun of riding the hype/flop wave.
That's why I say that we randomly pick some mediocre looking game and start hyping it up to stupid levels. We'll proclaim it to be the greatest thing ever, AAA, GOTY contender, and flood system wars with poorly spelled posts about how it will change the course of the system war. Then, when it flops, we'll pick another and do it again.
Warhound looks like a good option:

Questionable developer, little basis for hype, 2008 release. Anyone else have any other good alternatives?
EDIT:
Warhound might not have a publisher, but that doesn't mean it isn't one of the most interesting shooters we've seen at Games Convention 2008. How many shooters properly incorporate a Gears of war style cover system into a first-person perspective, or allow you to set up dual grappling hooks to produce a tightrope, giving players the chance to sit, wait and stealth kill from above? That's what makes Warhound a mercenary-for-hire shooter all it's own, even if it's a little rough around the edges on the tech side.
We should be able to run with this.
