Well, I guess I can't blame him for how he got continually pestered over Twitter over it, but he DID help ignite the insanity by even bringing that up in the first place.

Thoughts?

Star Fox used to be a great series.  But Assault, while getting the gameplay right, was too short.  And Starfox Command was embarassingly disappointing.

Didn't want him to do it anyways. Just let Nintendo themselves make it.

A Star Fox game that reignited the magic of Star Fox 64 would be the sort of game that even MS and Sony fans would be excited about.

I don't understand why EAD don't want to make it.

SNES got almost two games (original Star Fox + the unreleased Star Fox 2), N64 got SF64 (with a direct sequel in the works) and NGC got two SF games (Adventures + Assault), but the Wii got nothing and it seems the Wii U won't get anything either.

It seems these series just aren't a priority to Nintendo anymore. (they already were outsourcing the franchise to other devs on the NGC)

I don't get why these developers even have a Twitter if they're going to complain about random people bothering them on it.

Agreed, that one on Snes was great as well. I would love to see a new Starfox game like those.

Yep.

He needs to pay less attention to the people on twitter.  I'm surprised that a serious game designer would let those types of questions get to him like that.

Not the same at all. Pikmin came in the GC era when a large majority of gamers sign out of the Nintendo phase. Pikmin 3 was supposed to come out on the GC and by the time it finally came out it wasn't even that fleshed out of a game. It lacked a meaty single player and has a sparse multiplayer. Pikmin was never dear to as many gamers as Star Fox is. There are many ex Nintendo owners from the N64 era that would love a properly made come back.

if Nintendo is going to give up on their franchises they might as well recruit other developers to do it, they had the right idea getting Team Ninja to do Metroid Other M, but none could have foreseen the Tomonobu Itagaki departure/lawsuit against Tecmo which probably ruined what it could have been, nonetheless it was a very fun game, not great like the Prime series but a decent experiment in a new gameplay design mixing 2D and 3D gameplay elements and mixing 1st and 3rd person, would probably go over much better on a modern controller and maybe make better use of the tablet controller seriously though instead of having say Platinum Games making new IPs people aren't interested in, have them making a next Star Fox, and have Team Ninja make another Metroid because we all know Nintendo has no interest in doing that, and recruit third party developers that could be interested in carrying the torch for other Nintendo franchises, I mean sure Nintendo has great developers and all but they're limited in what they can do by themselves, Nintendo has enough money though they could easily fund third parties to get the job done
