hmm, so PC has no games and is on its way out........

Yet here i am struggling on deciding what great games to buy, bought spore and am having a blast with it, bought clear skies and although its insanely difficult its turning into a fantastic gaming experience. Tomorrow WAR is released, its looking like its going to be another great game. Next week we have warhead and not long after that The Witcher EE, I'm spoilt for choice here.

Really, if this is what happens when a system is dying then R.I.P Pc gaming.

no, its fun. Also if you look at the many pc related threads you will find many many consolits who do infact claim Pc gaming is infact dying. They also claim Pc has no good games or any good exclusives. So, with that i think this thread is very relevant here in SW.

I used to be a tottally hardcore PC gamer. I would swear off any console and be like, who the hell buys consoles? Until 2008, my last console was the Gamecube which I played for a year then I barely played after that. I was esentially hardcore at PC gaming for 5 years.

So much changed in that time, World of Warcraft happened, Age of Empires 3 was an inferior sequel to one of my favorite games of all time and of course Half Life 2 came out. I regret none of my days spent with PC gaming in the past. My 4000 hours of it on my xfire is a testament to that and believe me that's only half the story. I got that two years after I started PC gaming.

Now these days I just sit here and say, what the hell happened to PC gaming? There are so many things that went wrong here. What ever happened to the games the PC does best? RTS, RPG, MMORPG, Simulation Games. These days it's all FPS and crappy versions of the genres I listed.

I remember when continious good games came out and the PC truly was superior.

Warcraft 3, Diablo 2, Battlefield 2, Battlefield 1942, Call of Duty 2, Company of Heroes, Guild Wars, World of Warcraft, Black and White, Rome Total War, Medieval Total War, Command and Conquer Red Alert 2, I could go on and on for days.

Now what do we have for PC...

Battlefield Heroes, ugh. Call of Duty World At War...great.

And where is the RTS? Sins of the Solar Empire was a niche piece. I haven't seen an awesome PC RTS, RPG, or MMORPG in a very long time. The consoles are a whole different story.

I pray for the day PC gaming becomes fresh again, I'm tired of console ports, lame games taking advantage of the PC and the sparse great games. The PC is worth so much more.

Truley some phenomenal games.

Its not dieing, just some of the devs are doing multiplatform.

Fact is, PC gaming will NEVER die. That is just rediculous people. Im not a big PC gamer,and even I know this. There would be more a chance of Mario going multiplat then PC gaming dying.

On a side note....Consoles are closing in quickly on multitasking. Which is what makes PC's so nice. If I only gamed on my PC then it would actually do EVERYTHING I need it to. I do everything from photos, to music, to playing stepmania, to surfing the web, watching home videos on it, watching tv programs on it...chatting with people, I do art on my pc...It does everything. AND, if something breaks down on it....I can fix it. No worrying with warranties or any LIVE pay either..

I love consoles and have been playing them since 1980. That will never change, but my love for the PC will never change either.

Has it been said b4 in SW that PC gaming is dying? Yes it has..... is it even remotely as rampant as the constant "So PC Gaming is dying eh?" threads? NOPE!

For every person that claims PC Gaming is dying... you have 20 Hermits trying to prove otherwise... its getting really old...

Hey I know... why not make some more threads about the Wii not being as powerful as the 360/PS3.... they'd be just as informative.

You didn't give any legitimate examples.... people saying that they aren't interested in PC Gaming the way they used to be, and complaining about whats currently offered on the Platform, is not in any way related to "PC Gaming Death".

As I said b4, I can not like what the PS3 is offering... even though I used to play on the PS1 & PS2... does that mean I'm saying that the Playstation brand is dying? NOPE!

well all i know is only 2 titles interest me: warhead and spore. also when i go to the GAME (UK) or other game retail stores, the consoles occupy a far greater store space. hell in gamestation the PC section was a corner of the store and the new and old titles were mixed together.swamplord666

Also, PC is more into digital distribution and direct sales (neither of which require a brick-and-mortar presence to sell).
