There really is no other reason to think of logicly.

I mean the Home Beta was ready months ago. Anfd Sony had over a year to get this Home out. And they would cleary not want to suffer anymore bad press or setbacks.

This is so blatantly obvious that they are looking at the sales of the PS3 and want to further anylize the current Sale situation of the PS3 before they further pump money into Home and the PS3 without looking further into the sales future.

This is cleary a wait and see business decision.

And if sales do not pick up dramatically they maybe not even be a Home or a PS3 come 2009.

You don't go from Having Home Beta back over the summer to saying Oppppssss we need to delay this thing for another year.

And then the fact that you see Sony letting there only saving grace this holiday UT3 slip into mid 2008.

I don't think so there either. UT3 has been said to of been playable on PS3 for some time.

Or is it the DRASTIC we can't get this UT3 to run well on this under powered limited texture issues station.

Back to Home. You don't go touting this thing for over ayear and launch a Beta for it. And the n out of nowhere say AHH:roll:Home has been put on the shelf for now:roll:

A delay in a huge, code/network intensive feature that probably still needs bug fixing is now a sign that the PS3 is going to die?

Give me a break.

I don't think the delay of Home is any indication that Sony is pulling the plug on the PS3. In fact, I am positive Sony is not going to do that. Sorry your dreams won't be coming true.

Sony is going to delay something that will bring them a lot of success in the online world and it will kill the PS3? Yeah right. Had you any idea how hard it is to make a network intensive program like Home, then you would not be saying anything, it takes a lot of work to make a program be able to communicate over a network in real time without lag.

Sony has had years to do this?

No EXCUSES. But they are concerned with the PS3 sales PERIOD.

Heck they filmware update everything why would Home be any different all the sudden:roll:

Right. Because there is no other possible reason that an online world full of interaction with other people could be delayed. Those games NEVER have bugs or other issues found during the betathat need to be fixed.

Sony had years to come up with an idea that they had started work on this generation?

By that logic, Bungie had years to make Halo 3, instead we got 7 years of Halo: CE and Halo 2 first...see how insane that sounds?

Look, games and software get delayed all the time. With something as fluid and forward-looking as Home, I was not surprised by delays to get everything hammered out.

A delay does not mean a project or a company is dying. Cases in point, Gears of War was delayed, PGR4 was delayed, Ratchet & Clank: Future was delayed...I could keep listing games and programs that were delayed forever. They all turned out just fine in the end.

This thread is just full of sad whimpering of sour grapes and false hope.

Man, the ignorance in SW is thick! This is like saying that since 360 has a large fail-rate, the 360 will shutdown in 2008. Neither one will happen.

Besides, UT3 isn't totally confirmed as being out of 2007. If you think so, show me what Mark Rein said.

Kind of like the people who claim the PS3 and 360 are equal in sales? :P

Ahh Delays lets countdown some delays that are infamous

Bioshock,Half Life 2,Halo 2 and 3, MGS4. Some of those are just history but if you look back they were supposed to come at certain times and never came, mainly leaving the Devs to take more time developping.

it's probably delayed so that they can integrate all the other features of home that they promised. not just walking around and chatting.

Look, I hate Sony as much as the next guy (especially if the next guy's parents were raped and killed by Sony), but if you don't cite your sources, and you merely engage in idle speculation, then your threads are completely insupportible by a person like me.

They are adding more touches and fixes to Home and that is great. But if a company keeps making delays or putting the release date back how can anyone see it as a reliable company? People wont trust a company that keeps saying its going to come out one moment and that it is delayed in the next moment.

I would rather have a product that had delays that works over something that was rushed that doesn't work very well (remember the 360 problems that are still not fixed)

When Valve delayed Half-Life 2 in 2003, after working on it for 5 years, they were clearly reconsidering being in the PC gaming business.

I mean, it isn't like they could actually have had difficulties that made such a delay necessary, right?
