Super Smash Bros. Brawl crushes every fighting game released this gen.Can-o-Mark
Meh changed to much from Melee.. Melee had skill involved where-as Brawl went ass backwards from that. I still like Brawl tho but it didn't live up to my hype.

Brawl still requires a lot of skill. Brawl and Melee are still one of the few fighting games in which I cant beat an experienced player without a lot of luck by my side. Perfect example would be DOA. I have played the game on a couple of occasions. Yet I have beaten people who have put loads of hours into the game. Including a friend of mine who got to like the quarter finals of the Dutch WCG. Brawl however, I dont stand a chance.Dude I have been playing this game since launch and it rocks with its online mode and deep skill tactics involved with a non so clunky but yet fluid controls. SSBB is pretty fun, I also likes but it cant change my feelings for DOA. Anyone eles agree or dissagree that DOA4 is the best fighting game this gen so far?dabigsiebowskiWell i hate 3d plane fighters , with the exception of the ps1 tekkens... so no i disagree. STREET FIGHTER 4 will pwn any fighting game this gen anyways..
I haven't ever played DOA4, and I loved DOA3 except I always hated the ridiculous amount of damage that the counters did. Did they tone that down in 4?buuzer0Yes, a LOT. DoA4 is miles better thanks to increased speed and there's a lot more juggles.
Also,I agree with the topic creator. No other fighter this gen has been able to hold my attention as long as DoA4 (been played it for about 3 years straight.
It bothers me that somehow SC games get away with being a button masher, as if they arn't. But DoA games which arn't really button mashers at all, gets criticised for it. Its snobbery.Darth_DuMasI havent played the latest SC game, so I cant comment on that. But I have played very few fighting games that are bigger buttonmashers than the DOA games.

I played the SC4 demo and I own the first two. Reviewers say theres no major updates in gameplay and remains largely the same, except for the graphics and that new finisher and some other minor tweaks.
In my experience SC games are far and away the biggest button mashers. You can button mash on an easy difficulty, but it becomes a stuggle after that. And it really pays off to play properly and learn those moves combos and counters. I have really tried with the SC games but its not rewarding to learn how to play properly imo.

I agree with you, but you are going to get Flamed hardcore by the SSBB fanboys.
Also once SF4 hits, we will have a new best fighting game.

Its okay, DoA falls into the same category as SSBB for how good it is, as in, not very. Please Log In to post.
