its just to bad that im far to afraid of it to actually play it. But you got to give it to them, the kind of news that comes out of that game is just so much more intresting than in any other game out there. Whether its political assasinations, mass embezzalment, or massive money heists, that game just never siezes to amaze me.

http://www.massively.com/2009/06/10/eve-onlines-largest-player-run-bank-rocked-by-embezzlement/

it just sucks that im far to intimadated by it to actually try it out, from what I hear, it has a brutal learning curve. But this kind of stuff just makes me appreciate what a player run gaming world can actually turn into.

Might want to change the topic title my main man. Even Online isn't Eve Online.

Eve Online is a game that I really like but never got into. It's kind of intimidating to tell the truth :P.

To me, Eve Online is the kind of game I go "Yep, looks cool." and NEVER touch it. I just like reading about it :P

 I'm sort of in the same boat. I literally watch epic battle videos. But I never play it. I completely respect it though. Very cool.

LOL, I thought my friend posted this topic...He plays Eve and doesnt shut up about it...From what I can tell and have played, you must invest massive amounts of time into this game to get any reward...I think you literrally have to sit there and do nothing while you learn skills...its fun if you dedicate yourself to it...THis is a good thing for me b/c this guy is going to be rooming w/ me in college and I imagine hell mostly be on there so he wont bother me...

I remember a COD2 laptop LAN party I went to awhile back. The guy who hosted it wouldn't stop about Eve Online. We looked at vids for like 2 hours just about talking about the game

its weird. everything he says makes the game sound amazing, but when you actually play it feels very different. Let me just say, for every awesome event in the game there are 10000000000 asteroid mining events...

Eve Online is a really unique game, totally player driven. I never got into it, the learning curve is absolutely massive. But I've heard some pretty mindblowing stories.

Exactly. I played it for about two months. Even though you can see the "bigger picture" around the horizon, it just a lot of work to be honest. Everyone likes the concept of Eve Online, but not everyone has the patience to make it happen. I fall in that category with the lot of you.

Yeah. It's not something that I could ever get into, but just the idea of it, the entirely player driven economy and politics and everything, is just extremely cool

It definitely is unlike anything imaginable in an MMO, and free to play,

But yeah this is one of those games where months of work can go down the toilet in 1 day.

I actually thinks that WWII Online is a cooler idea for a MMO than Eve. Eve is truely unqiue though.

I have no idea. I never really played it, so I wouldn't know. All I know is that there's a fee now
