Horizon Forbidden West complete edition reportedly coming to PC soon

"Following the news this weekend that a "Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition" for PlayStation 5 had been sighted on Singapore's IMDA ratings board, extremely reliable Dealabs leaker billbil-kun has claimed this new version will also be heading to PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition is, according to the IMDA's now-removed listing, a bundle containing Horizon Forbidden West and its Burning Shores expansion. Billbil-kun says that while they've yet to hear news of a release date, its launch should be "imminent" - perhaps even within a month - based on data collected previously.

Horizon Forbidden West originally released in February 2022 for PlayStation 5 and PS4; an imminent PC launch would fit Sony's current strategy of leaving at least an 18-month gap before its first-party console exclusives make the jump to PC. Its most recent release on the platform was Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, which arrived this July."

Maybe it’ll be another shitty PC port like Last of Us was. PC is just the worst.

Dogwater franchise that i wish would be completely gone from this universe. Dogloy is one of the worst and most boring female characters i have ever seen in a video game. Would genuinely give this trash IP to Microsoft. Please stop torturing GG, and allow them to make a new IP, or even a Killzone reboot could be interesting. So much talent at the studio, and all they've been making for the last 10 years is this POS series.

Good stuff. I quite enjoyed the first one. I hear they did a good job with the sequel too.

While not a masterpiece like Elden Ring or God of War, Horizon Forbidden West was a very decent game...

Even with a 4090 PC I still haven't found a single game that blows it out of the water. (albeit the PS5 runs it in only 40fps).

games like CP2077 have much more advanced path tracing that would probably only run at 4 fps on a PS5 but HFW still has better looking graphics in my opinion.

Really only Plague Tale 2 on fully maxed settings is a clearly superior looking game. Dying Light 2 all maxed looks better in some areas but actually worse in some. The difference is my PC runs those games in 120fps, so that's 3x the performance just there.

PC gamers - you really should look forward to HFW if you want amazing, next-gen graphics.

@fedor: It is literally mind boggling how Sony has neither given us a PS5 remaster, a PS5 remake or at the very least a PC port of Bloodborne. I honestly think Bloodborne is the most remaster-requested game of all time.

@Mozelleple112: Kinda have to agree here. There are more technically advanced games, but Forbidden West has pretty great art direction.

@judaspete: The art direction, the gorgeous character models, the superb animation, lush vegetation/environments etc.

and I honestly don't care much that the lighting is baked / pre rendered / rasterised. It looks good.

CP2077, Portal RTX, Quake RTX, Metro Exodus I honestly don't think their lighting looks that better than HFW's (or Plague Tale 2, which doesn't have PT or RTGI).

Not everything IRL glows and reflects like mirrors anyway.

The textures in HFW are also damn good too. There are so many games with average (or even downright bad) textures even on PC max settings. (cough, RDR2, Metro Exodus half the time...)

so if a PS5 can run HFW at 4K/40fps (no RT) then I imagine a 4090 with DLSS3+FG could do 4K/120 with added ray tracing / RTGI...

That's because Guerrilla has a whole bunch of talented artists that all know what they are doing. From intricate details on characters to dynamic clouds.

You could have 500 developers with bad management and no clear goals and end up with a worse looking game

Or you could put your game full of the latest tricks and tech like Aveum did on UE5 and end up with an absolute flop.

For me a good looking game will always come down to asset quality, animation quality, texture quality, etc ... And you can't just take shortcuts.

That is why I can still look back to a game from 10 years ago, and eventhough it doesn't have the latest tech, it could still look great. Look at Valve games for example: they all had talent behind them.

I never beat the original one on PS4. Pretty game and the robots where cool, but it didn't do anything gameplay wise I hadn't done multiple times in other open world games.

Better looking than the first but it was a mediocre to awful gameplay experience.

I avoided the PS5 version while waiting for the PC version. Same thing with Ghost of Sushi. These ports are taking so long. I almost gave up and played them on PS5, but I continue to hold out for the superior PC versions.

Bro they're stealing our games. Soon, our ps5 will have as many exclusives as the pointless Series X. Jim Ryan is probably a Microsoft employee that has infiltrated the Sony business. I don't know about you, but this puts a lot of stress on my shoulders.

The Decima Engine is really efficient and devs should have learnt their lessons due to 2 games ported to PC and their last port, Death Stranding was quite a great port.

It's literally the best gaming platform lol. Over here at Gamespot it nearly has like double PS5's high scoring library this generation, and almost every single game on PS5 is way better on PC except for a few ports Sony screwed up.
