This news was spotted last month of December 2019, but since more evidence starting to appeared, maybe, just maybe there might be some truth into this and I reaaaaallly hope so, cause HZD is still my all time favorite PS4 exclusive I had fun in 2017 and I'm in the mood, to replay it for the 4th time and I been holding off until I hear the PC version is legit. EGS, Steam, doesn't matter to me where it ends up.
Yeah i'm going to take that with a big pinch of salt. I will need to see something official from Sony.
A first party game from sony released for the PC...very unlikely.
in saying that, if it is true then i would be very interested. i am planning to get a PS5 at some point and horizon is on my to get list of PS4 games when i do get it. but this would be better.
on a side note: if true...linux support. do it sony...do it...please. gwan :D.
My condolences to pc players. Avoid this turd.
You must be joking. HZD was a fantastic game. I'm gonna double-dip on the PC version.
If you've played a Far Cry game, you've played this one already. Only difference is, those games don't have shitty characters or robot dinos.
@briguyb13: It’s the female protagonist, isn’t it
No she's pretty cool, but the rest of the cast... lol.

from a high level it follows the same overall pattern as the fc games, but lower level it's orders of magnitude more polished and cohesive than anything ubisoft have churned out these last several years
Well, I ignored the last thread on this because I've always hated it when PC Gamer salivated over games that weren't announced for PC yet. Wait for the damn game to be announced first, then write your click baits, FFS.
But seeing as this is Jason Schreier Confirmed(TM) - AKA mark this shit down on a calender cos it's coming like death and taxes - I am going to reply to this one.
Horizon: Zero Dawn is the only game this generation to move the needle on my temptation-to-buy-a-console-o-meter. This is therefore an insta-buy for me, but I will looking closely the quality of the port.
Yeah Death Stranding is coming as well, which just so happens to be built on the same engine. Could be that Decima games will be PC games as well.

It's still a shit formula that's over used this gen. Lazy and conforming. I expect better from Sony.
Damn. That's gonna look amazing in 4K/60. I spent so much time with this game, I don't know if I can double dip though.
@Zero_epyon: We knew that already though, right? I thought DS was announced as coming later to PC. This tweet makes it sound like something else.
Next gen is getting really weird. The need for Xbox and PlayStation could be totally gone.

The guy who leaked Half Life VR confirmed it last year in December that it'll be coming to PC. Now a mainstream website has confirmed it through its sources. Sounds like a done deal. Would be good for promotion of HZD's sequel as well. Will attract more people towards PS5 and the sequel. Plus it'll also open a door for PC + PS titles like PC + Xbox.
God of War director said he'd love to bring the game on PC but it's above his pay grade. The guy who leaked Half Life VR told us in december that Sony employees are being asked to keep PC version in mind when developing new games.
Lol what if sony creates their own PC store and put it on there? But it is really surprising tho. I hope their gamble succeeds and we get sony games on pc.
Sony did mention the possibility before, but nothing was confirmed then, and at the time it sounded like they would be porting multi-player games only. This confirmation seem to suggest they're going beyond that.
Which makes sense if Sony are hoping to emulate Microsoft's "presence" strategy which single-handedly salvaged this generation for them. As I explained before, it is clear Microsoft are moving to become more hardware-agnostic, focusing on software and platforms and seeing hardware merely as a facilitator for that platform. Microsoft do not care what you play their games on, as long as you play their games.
Sony's recent changes to PS Now seem to suggest they are moving in the same direction; time will tell if they will make that move with the same ambition.

Who doesn't, many games spring to mind.

right it seems like at least decima engine games will be able to run on PC so who knows. It seems MS and Sony will have similar strategies when it comes to PC. I'm fine with that really. Only reason I'm buying a PS5 if for friends and exclusives.
I didn't think the rumours were true, but I am very happy. I will be buying this again on PC as long as they lift that shit 30fps cap.
I think HZD had a performance mode on Pro where the framerate was unlocked. I'm sure it will be just fine.

agree with that about spiderman. that was a shameless ubisoft rip off - formulaic, lazy and stuffed with filler. not hzd though. there was some genuine deep thought, good pacing and attention to detail in it. doesn't deserved to be tarred with the same brush

I have a PS4 Pro and it is limited to 30fps in both modes.
Not a game I enjoyed enough to finish, let alone replay.
hopefully a sign more PS exclusives get freed from lousy hardware and 30fps though.

Yep. Pro is rock solid at 30 with perf mode, base is still pretty solid with dips when the action ramps up.

I think what rubbed me the wrong way the most about HZD was the ending and how much it tried to copy Gears of War. On top of that it was so anti-climactic.
Plus I didn't like they way they wanted you to play in stealth virtually the whole time. You have this big world and you're supposed to hide in the high grass a large part of the time? I also hated that "go clear out this enemy base" bullshit that was just like FC.
It's just such an old and tired design. Seems like it gets high praise just because it was a Sony exclusive.
So with Sony now developing games with low spec pcs in mind, does this means that games are going to be build around the minimum requirements? Or that logic is now no longer valid?
