Wow.. the rumors were true, we are getting a Horizon Zero Dawn remaster. Are you excited, SW? I thought the original looked great at it is, can’t imagine this looking much better.
As much as the rational part of my brain tells me this is a cash grab and don't buy it, Horizon games have a way of switching that part of my brain off.
Instabuy, with guaranteed minimum of two play-throughs, even though I'll probably hate myself a little bit for it.
I played the game all the way through on ps4... I enjoyed it. I absolutely do not want a remaster/remake and I think it's totally unnecessary.
I cringe at the thought of people trying to convince someone the pro will be worth it because "teh foliage in horizon remaster is so good...." barf city.
i assume its going to be another if you own the ps4 version you get the upgrade for a tenner release. still wouldn't pay it, even though hzd is the only open world game based on the ubi formula that i've actually enjoyed
I thought this was well known already due to the reports Zero Dawn was getting the remastered treatment? Well anyway, Zero Dawn is 7yrs old game that doesn't really need it but whatever. I'm not the target audience as I really enjoyed the game on PS4 and PC. But Forbidden West is were it's at. Oh and I'll be picking up Horizon Lego game for Switch.
Does it need a remaster? Does it warrant one? I don't know, maybe it's my PC privilege talking, but the game is fine from a technical standpoint. Looks pretty good.

It's doubly-bad because they just aren't really releasing a lot of new games from Sony-owned studios as well, so it's like the best they can do is re-release older games.
I never even finished the 1st one honestly. I had me collecting ten rat pelts or some crap to increase my bag storage and mats had a low drop percentage anyway, so I lost interest entirely and moved on to other games. Still though, the game isn't even that old so at this point, it's pretty obvious that Sony's picking the low hanging fruit to artifically pad it's game catalogue.
ah is this because there's a tv show coming out and they're giving it tlou treatment? or did that get cancelled, vaguely remember there being some noise about it

That's one of the things that turned me off of the first game a ton. We had to kill boars just to get health pots and I wanted to play on the hardest difficulty which, naturally, required a bit of health pots. So, I had to go around doing the most boring of tasks just to fill my health pots rather than being able to buy them.
Maybe we are able to buy them later on, but I didn't have the patience to put up with it so I just quit and never really went back.
Just do the Nintendo thing and remaster all of your popular games from your worst console and sell them again.

Yup! They have a huge library to pull from. It just makes too much sense. Remastering PS4 games is just lazy and safe.
Sony this entire generation has been lazy and safe unfortunately. Those remasters would pull people in, but probably wouldn't bring in AAA money Sony wants every release.

Totally need to bring back all the Infamous games for sure. I'm down for remakes or remasters on the Infamous games.
I still don’t get why Sony refuse to remaster/remake Bloodborne? Even Miyazaki was practically begging for it to happen.
My guess is Sony doesn't think it would make enough money. They seem to only want to remaster their safe franchises. There was a time where Sony would do it because fans wanted it and not because it would make a ton of money
Me everytime I watch Sony's event or read their remaster plans. Is it that hard to just release new single player games? Its what sony so good at. Where my Bloodborne 2 at?

I said this when the series first released, but Little big planet would still be thriving today if released on PC.
The ability to have community content is a huge thing on PC and would've kept the game (and studio) alive.

But.....but why? Right Sony...new Policy. No more remasters for anything later than a PS3. When I come to power, remakes from a previous gen are just going to be banned. BANNED I tells ya!
...Good game though in fairness. Recommended. But just get the current version and enjoy that if you are looking for something to play.
What is Sony even doing at this point? Last of Us Part II Remastered and Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered? These games already look great and are backwards compatible.
When is God of War Remastered coming? How about Second Son?
I don't get why Sony is making a remaster of a game that already looks better than some PS5 native games.
I hope nobody buys this, but I know they will because instead of just updating the original to run better on current gen, they will market this remaster towards PS5 Pro enhancements which should also be free if the PS4 version is owned.
You ask me, any well made game released gen 8 and onward will never need to be remastered. Everything looks great now other than some uncanny valleyness to human faces, but that may never be completely gone.
I warned players a few years ago that the remaster/remake trend was dangerous for gaming cause devs/pubs would detract money from new projects for these and people said I was overreacting and being too dramatic. "If you dont want them, dont buy them and let others enjoy them" they said... ugh, gamers trully are a stupid bunch
Now there you have it gamers. Very few new AAA projects and dozens upon dozens of games you already played or could play for cheaper on a old console

Sony is not a fandom but a cult (sometimes hard to tell the difference I know) so it's not surprising that Sony would abuse its followers. It's so bad that the next big first party title coming to the PS5 is from MS and Indy early next year🤦♂️
