Hot Shots Golf Shoots 300,000 Preorders In Japan

Hot Shots Golf has been a key franchise Sony in past years. Hot Shots Golf has always been about over the top shots and character customization. Well the latest in the Hot Shots Golf franchise has hit over 300,000 preorders in Japan.

Hot Shots Golf 5 will be fully online. Online lobbies will be able to support 50 players.

No American date has been announced for Hot Shots Golf 5 at this time. But stay tuned for more in this hot title.

yah hotshots is a fun game. i loved the demo that is out for the JP PSN. but wow 300k pre orders already?

Tiger Woods is a simulator.

This could just be orders by the retailers .... and not pre-orders by customers.

That's pretty good, really.

Hopefully this will begin a turnaround in what have been pretty unimpressive sales for the PS3.

Understatement of the century. The Hotshots golf series is 90000000000000000 times more fun than Tiger games. People are talking about Final Fantasy and MGS, but Hot Shots Golf 5 will be the real PS3 system seller in Japan. Man, I cannot wait until this game makes it over to the U.S. The Hot Shots Golf PSP game was my first PSP purchase and is still, by far, my favorite.

I downloaded the demo from the Japanese store.

It was fun.

This game is the biggest sports game in japan. Sells around 1.2 million always. This game also comes out in 2 months so most likely, the sales will get to around 600,000.nhh12345

Yea...but I'm saying dont expect the preorders to reach that high at the ps3's current state...I'm pretty sure that 900,000 people are anticipating taht game...I'm not saying it wont reach 1.2 million( it will eventually) but it's not gonna make 600,000 in it';s first week....

But really, the Japanese also loved Mobile Gundam, a game that got a 2 something here. So this being a killer app doesn't compute with me.

That first Gundam Crossfire game... terrible. But Gundam Musou is really awesome and almost fanservice.

Yay...a FUN golf game exclusively for PS3. This is a kick back and relax, fun for the whole family sort of game if there ever was one. Screw all of the EA rehashed sports titles. With the exception of maybe Fight Night Round 3, I do not see how in the hell people can still like EA sports games year after year....rehash after rehash.

Always surprising the kinds of games the Japanese latch onto. Who would have thought that Monster Hunter would end up sellign so many PSP's?

ps3 is only $450 in japan and all the ps3 needs is some more games being released and it will do fine.

The 300,000 is orders to stores and not customers, also the series only hit the 500,000 in its latest form on the PSp total. To give you an idea the Gundam Mosu game also preordered 290,000 by retailers at release.

So expect the same bump of sales and then a drop right back to 10,000 or less per week just like gundam.

So once more the cry gos out wait till:
