how can the ps3 compete with halo 3, bioshock and a REAL price drop??

yep the fake bait and switch by sony with its price cut attempt won't fool too many american gamers - the ps3 still sits at $US599 and in the last npd figures, it languished well and truly behind the 360 with half its sales, although the wii absolutley pounded both 360 and the ps3. I'ld predict that with bioshock coming out, then halo 3 coupled with the price drop to $US349 we should see the 360 narrow some of the gap with the wii although it will be close. The 360 is clearly the better unit in terms of value for money, offering a far better variety of games while the ps3 looks pathetic in the game department and on a cost/performance basis its crap - the only market it is doing remotely well is in UK/europe (those ppl buy whatever crap sony puts out at a higher, unjustified price; just pure idiots seem to have bought it, you can get the unit cheaper in the US anyway, just import it).

This holiday season should see the ps3 fail dismally - will they ever be able to catch up?

you think all the people in all regionswho've grown up playing certain titles linked with the playstation brand: (mgs ff grand turimso grand theft auto (i know its multiplat),) are gonna give those up just for halo 3, mass effect and bioshock? when they know the sequels are coming out?

sony have been number one for quite a long period of time and held that mantle in all three regions (Europe, Japan and USA), but they took that mantle from nintendo who had to claw it back from sega. It's a fragmented market now - the only console winning all three regions is the Wii, although the price advantage it holds is being erroded and it clearly isn't being embraced by developers as much as the 360 or even the ps3. By the way, grand theft auto 4 will have exclusive content on the360
