How can you not want a PS3?

Seriously... are you freaking KIDDING me?! Yes, we have these threads every week, but after seeing some GOW3, GT5 and playing inFamous, I too must resort to this lowness.

I just can't believe you don't want a PS3. And mad props to Sony for supporting the hell out of this machine in the face of all the cynisism it got at launch (though 599 dowlah was a joke and it certainly was never worth that price tag - unless the games we're getting now were all available from the beginning) and the horrible state of the economy. The truth is, had we not gone into an economic meltdown, PS3 would be making some crazy gains towards the 360. Alas, the price is hurtin 'em.

Easy. I haven't seen a game on that console that I have to play. My 360, Wii, DS, and PC keep me plenty happy. Until I see that "I gotta play this" game, I won't be getting a PS3. There are games I'd buy if I had a PS3, but I certainly don't feel like I'm missing out on anything not having a PS3.

More compelling games on the 360 and Wii pretty much. PS3 hasn't really distinguished itself graphically from 360, and 360 has better exclusives IMO.

Sony coming out with 3 or 4 games a year doesn't do it for me. I might buy 1 or 2 of those games. Why would I want one? The 360 has more exclusives, more multiplats, better multiplats, better online features, a better controller. Why would I want a ps3?

There are still no games that I want on it, that's why. If it had a price drop, I'd consider it as a Blu-Ray player, but oh well.

No they did actually, there was an article on GS a few months ago where Sony was saying that.

As for the games I said there are games I'd buy if I had one, but not "must play" games. Metal Gear Solid hasn't interested me in awhile, the second one pretty much ended my interest. Uncharted just seems to be another third person shooter which I've had enough of shooters and Little Big Planet wasn't my cup of tea when I played it.

I get the experience I'm looking for on the platforms I already have, the only game that the PS3 sports which really have me interested in Heavy Rain and Mod Nation Racers, however its still not enough to get me to get a PS3 simply because they aren't "must play" games.

No, but seriously if there was a game on it that I really wanted, I would get one in a heart beat. If I really was a fanboy I would have gotten a wii as well since I've been playing Nintendo games since the NES era. Since there are only a total of 5 games that I want on it (with 3 of those slated for a 2010 release), I've held off on buying one.

Everyone wants every system and would definitely get them all if they could... I personally can't afford to own all the system and at the same time enjoy them all...my budget doesn't allow for it. So I chose what would work for me over the long term (the PS3)... but I still want the Wii and the 360...they're great systems...I just have to say no to myself... I'll also get one once it drops it's price and the library of games justifies it. It still doesn't imo. 6 months to a year from now i probably will want one. But buying one now and watching it collect dust while i wait for games doesn't do a whole lot for me. I honestly dont want one right now. I probably will eventually. Saying i won't is probably denial. But right now I have more than enough games on the 360 and coming where i reall yhave no interest in purchasing one.

i bought into the hype of MGS4 so i bought a ps3 and mgs4 and was very disappointed with them both, sold both as there was nothing on the system that i wanted

Really easy, only Valkyria Chronicles interests me of the current selection. I don't enjoy action games, so that throws out the majority of the highly thought of PS3 games and even though I recognize that they are good games, I'm simply not part of that demographic.

First of all, you didn't just question. You made an emphatic statement. And also we're not talking about an entire library. We're talking about a library of exclusives. It's possible for someone not to be interested in any of them. And it's not like they have no interests whatosever, just not enough to warrant a purchase.

The fact that you won't just let their opinions be definitely makes you a fanboy.

Little Big Planet was the only game that really interested me, but I decided against getting PS3 because of the price. Plus, you have to count the fact that every PS3 fanboy I new hated Little Big Planet and wanted me to get a bunch of mindless FPS games. They're sporting the samestuff they've sported all year, just with better graphics. Seriously, where's Shadow of the Colossus II? Or Okami II? games that presented atmosphere with shear artistic ability and/or strong storytelling along with creative gameplay is what I'm looking for.nicktarist

That's the thing. PS3 released with nothing of interest. It's been stated countless times, but its true: the system suffers from 'Just wait', and for $500+, I shouldn't have to wait for anything. The only thing that kind of interested me was LBP, but after playing it at my friends, it quickly resorted to a snooze fest. Watching those floaty things bounce aroundwill put anyone to sleep, and making anything worthwhile was a chore.

Give me Shadow II now. God Of War 3 should have been out awhile ago. Give me an FF, a new twisted metal, or something cool.

WIth 360, I would get Dead rising, Left for dead, bioshock, gears 1 and 2. Cripe, xBOX is on its sequels in the same gen before PS3 gets one current.

What? It's not that there's a complete lack of interest here, it's the fact that there isn't enough interest for some people to go out and pay upwards of 300 dollars to play the games within the FPS genre.

While, it is possible not to care about any PS3 exclusive title, I think more that has to do with the fact that a person hasn't played any of them yet, so they aren't interested. Also, because they still may carry the thought that the PS3 has no good games. I talked to someone who lived at my hall that told me the PS3 has no good games and I wouldn't be surprised if the general public still has this belief. It's like my roomate who didn't play Smash Bros Brawl all of last year, then I finally got him to play enough to the point he improved at ithe game and now he always plays. He loves the game, lol.

Or, I saw my brother play Crackdown and thought it was GTA ripoff and sucked. Then a year later I played the demo for a little and it was fun.
