How come nobody in SW talks about the present?

Its just something I noticed about this place. In here, its always "PS3 is gonna own in 2009" or "I can't wait for game XYZ in the fall" or something to that effect. Are the gamers on this board soo deprived of enjoying life in the present that they only focus 3 - 12 months in the future?

The way I see SW is that since 2005 the 360 has been the console king. Why because since 2005 it has had the best games library, the best online/dashboard experience, and the best non-game related services. But instead of talking about what has been around for 2 and a half years everyone in here only talks about whats coming down the road.

Why?

I think you need to visit an optician, people talk about recent stuff all the time here.

Because people hype the games for years and then when they get here play them/beat them in less than a week and repeat.

I know, people were hyping MGS4 til the end of time, and beat the whole game in like a day. This is why I could never hype a few games because I know one single title no matter how great is going to last me 365 days.

Yes, this is true, but everything that has come out in the past is available now...in the present.
