Obviously the system is not breaking down (yet). Us Europeans are getting a brand new version though so stay tuned!

In all seriousness the PS3 seems to be amazingly reliable considering the cutting edge technology.

Maybe because the 360 has been out longer than the PS3 or that there aren't any PS3s breaking down.

Well said.

Sony delaying their PS3 for like 7 months seems to have payed off. It looks like they've learnt from their mistakes with the PS2.

The seeming reliability of the PS3 to date is a big gain for Sony. Well done to them. However, don't count your chickens just yet. Could still happen, many things just reach a certain cutoff point where they suddenly start breaking.

The PS3 is built better. (I said built better. Let me say it again. Built better. I said nothing about the PS3 being a better system. Save your flames for someone else.) For those who still wish to argue, http://forums.xbox.com/281/ShowForum.aspx

The only thing that might happen to the PS3 now is drive/laser failers. As they take a long time to occur.

Well, there was alot of storys about 360's breaking minutes and hours after getting it out of the box. Though most where probably overstatments there where still those who failed after a few days. Which as gamer I feel realy bad for those who experianced that. Here you've been waiting you Arse of for months to get the new hardware and it breaks on you. That is just sad. Even sader for those who had their 360 fail on then over and over again... I realy hope I don't experiance it with the Ps3 im buying on the 23rd.

It's a good thing though if it breaks down early. They still had the MS warranty or even better, the in-store return policy so that they could get a brand new system. It's a bad thing when it happens one year after purchase (without an extended warranty). Those are the poor owners shelling out $140 to trade in their defective system for a refurbished unit.

Never is a strong word. The Zephyr is rumored to have cooler running chips, enhanced drives, and an enhanced overall cooling system. That may mitigate or eliminate many of the problems plaguing current Xbox360 owners.

Indeed. But as it was stated, will removing the old EE have issues with other sections of the console? As it was built around it :S Or its just two seperate sections of the cosole that linux taps into, deppending on the game. (most likely)
