His games aren't rehashes of one another. Plus there's alot of variety to them. RPG's, sports, racing...

It's the millionth thread regarding this, and it's really simple, like another user put it.
Milking a game is not bad, per se. It never was (FF 1 - 9 for example are all solid, good games, X, XII and XIII all have huge fanbases also, also have differences betwen them).
It's wen it's milked in a wrong way (CoD rehash every year, minimal differences, basically same settings, same engine since CoD 4), then it is bad.
A library of 100 games from a franchsie that has been around for almost 3 decades doesn't go into the milkage category, especially since not all Mario games are platformers. You have most of the important genres of games represented, with quality, innovation and variety coming together. Not every game is a win, but most are.
COD has some quality games in it's list, but it's a newer franchise that has quite a few releases all in the same genre.
This thread should just end here. Mario is no where near the level of rehash that CoD is every year.
Also Mario games don't get annual releasesSunshine, Galaxy, Paper Mario, SM64 , Mario Kart, and M&L are completely different games. You cant tell the difference from MW2 and Black Ops.

I think it's because it's just Mario/Nintendo characters being overused vs. the same game formula being overused.

That's only for platformers. Really, Mario usually has a new game released every year, but they're always different, so, basically, it's a different game every year.

I remember back then, it was sometimes 3-4 before we ever saw another Mario game. They were spaced out almost too far (IMO) but when they came, oh boy did they come with excitment.

Mario Party. When was the last Mario Party made? Not 2010. Yeah, I agree, though, Mario Party tends to be the CoD of Mario.
So Tc you're comparing a franchise made by some company that doesn't care about the quality of their products and just wants to milk their fanbase to the extreme compared to a company that usuallyputs love and care into most of the games in the franchise. Also guess which of the two franchises fits into the two categories above.
And each of the games within a particular Mario "Theme" (e.g. platformer, Kart, etc) tends to innovate in some way over its predecessor. Super Mario Bros 2 had had the picking up/digging oddness, SMB3 saw some flying and the map; while in Mario Kart you saw the progression from a fairly standard kart racer (with 'splosions) to a nice racer with stunts (although I'd say they horribly botched the Battle Mode in MK Wii).
CoD doesn't evolve. It just slaps a shinier sticker on the box and shouts "BIGGER!" at you until you buy it.
Because somehow, boring party games become exciting and innovative when a plumber is doing it.

Mario is in other games besides party ones.

No, No, I'm serious, playing a watered down home run derby game with any other character would just be mundane and forgettable but with Mario, new life is blown into the "hay mom, I made this game in 5 days" genera in ways no one could have foreseen.
I salute you Mario, champion of the cheep and myrmidon of mediocrity. May your utters continue to spread lovely white excrement that is the life giving game-milk for all gamers to enjoy.

When's the last time you see a garbage man do this:Or this:
And of course this:
all the main mario games are very different from each other from gameplay mechanics, items, to objectives in the game. now if u wanna pick on the other games mario is in, heck those are even more different from each other as it goes from go-karts, to soccer, to baseball, to mario type boardgames, etc. need i go on? if you dont know this, then you probably havnt played enough mario games to voice such an opinion or you just cant tell the difference between running and a go-kart
