How Difficult Do You like your games?

easy-medium. I like having a bit of a challenge but i dont like having to spend hours and hours re doing the same thing over and over again because it is so hard.
I'm OK with anything from Easy to Hard, as long as there's not a steep learning curve.
I usually pick the medium difficulty setting if given an option.

Same here. When a game makes me angry, it's no longer fun.
I choose medium or hard (if I know there's something higher, that usually means hard isn't too bad) at the start of most games. I loved playing through NG2 on Mentor difficulty despite getting so angry/frustrated in the process of beating certain parts. It made it that much more memorable and made the experience last longer (in a good way).
Hard, I love a challenge and is the real reason I play games, but then I don't want it to be impossibly hard either and ruin the fun of the game. But say Ninja Gaiden (not black's) normal or hard differculty is about right imo, but then the modes after it like Very Hard and Master ruin the fun a bit to much imo.
Anyother Console Medium.
Xbox 360 The hardest difficulty because I want to only play the game once so if I play it on the highest difficulty I got all the achievements for the difficulty on one playthrough.
But I don't have a 360 anymore so I don't care about the achievements anymore.
It really depends on the game. Medium to hard usually though. To easy or to insanely hard decreases the fun factor immensely to me!
Depends on the game and the way it handles difficulty. I kind of feel cheated when enemies can take insane amounts of damage and my aim begins to count for nothing.
I like for games to have difficulty levels so I can mess around and have fun when I want or I can have a challenge when I want.
Normal and Hard
It really depends on the type of difficulty designed by the devs. You can have a Hard mode (but relatively easy, yet challenging) or there could be a Normal mode (where it's simply a breeze with no challenge at all). It depends on the games. Some games have Hard modes where it gets really challenging and often frustrating. Then there's the redundant Very Hard where it becomes impossible to enjoy.
I despise games like DMC 3 (original, not Special Edition) and Ninja Gaiden, to the point where it simply becomes pointless and no fun at all. F-Zero GX is also included.
[QUOTE="navyguy21"][QUOTE="Espada12"]i was about to say the same thing lol, NG2 was just cheap, so i sold that crap on ebay :P I like it hard and cheap.Hard but not cheap.. looking at you NG.

Dont we all, its the BEST kind
This is what you meant right?? :P
I don't like them to be frustrating. I am sure therre are people out there who like them long and hard, but I'm not one of them.
Depends on the game, for RTS well the computer cheats since it can do lots of actions at the same time so I'd but difficulty only to med-hard (not all RTS have cheating computers but some have), RPG I like them hard-very hard but most rpgs now have little to know challenge (how I miss the old school rpgs), fps difficulty? Regenerative health takes it away plus it doesn't make sense on most fps.
Hard to hell-like. The challenge is good. And, quite frankly, it's impossible to feel good about beating a game unless its on the hardest setting. So it's a point of obsessiveness for me.
However, I don't want "difficult" to be confused with "broken."
A game's difficulty should not be dependent upon the complexity of its controls. Case in point: DMC and Ninja Gaiden. The only reason I found those games at all difficult is because the controls were absolutely bonkers. You can only use the "combo-system" excuse for so long until it becomes obvious that the games just aren't user-friendly.

Pariah-
That's right, no one likes fake difficulty due to bad design or maybe they do. I have to do a poll on that.
