Sorry about posting in SW, but I didn't know where to put this. My NES has been acting weird latley, cartriges won't work, a game will run flawlessly then it glitches and crashes, and the most common one is when I play a game but there are vertical lines everywhere like this | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | I need help!

I believe you need to install a new 72-pin connector.

Autumn leaves must fall

but don't you know, that it hurts me so, to say goodbye to you

wish you didn't have to go

no no-no-NO!!!!

and when the rain beats against my windowpane, I'll think of Summer days again, and dream of you....and dream of you.

Oh, and yeah, I don't know how to fix your NES.  IMHO, get a wii and dump some cash into virtual console.

If blowing into the cart doesn't work, try cleaning it with alcohol.

Ok first off to every single person that said blow in the game or system or both....you are disgraces to the gaming world you NEVER and i mean NEVER should blow in a system or its games with carts all you do is move the dirt around and add to it as well as carode the connectors. here is what you should do get some windex, rubbing alcahol,a phillips head screw driver 2 is prefered different sizes, paper towels, q tips, go to radio shack and pick up for about 4 bucks a deoxit and progold pen. first step mix a light solution of 2 parts water and 1 part rubbing alcahol id say about 2 caps full of water and one cap of the rub (thats the cap off the rub) take q tip dip in solution and gently clean cart contacts making sure to dry, then apply deoxit pen use clean dry qtips to gently buff away corrosion, let dry then apply thin layer of progold leave this on. once done to all carts set aside. step 2 take apart nes this is easy since the nes does not use tri screws simple phillips head will do. nes is easy to take apart in the fact its a simple machine I doubt you will have a problem But here are a few tips! get an anti static wrist wrap or ground your self by touching metal often, GEt a peice of paper and try to draw a diagram, or place screws through peices of paper in the places they we're screwed into on the machine so u remember orientation, As well DO it on a FLAT CLEAN surface kitchen table...ect Once taken apart you can slip the 72pin connector off the main board, place every thing apart and to the side. Use windex and paper towels to clean off the case outside and in, Place to side let dry. Use vaccum cleaner to clean out any dust on and off the main board, a can of compressed air is not advised older chips are not robust againest sudden drops in tempture like newer ones are. Once things are clean pick up 72pin connector, Use solution of rub and water with clean dry q tip dip in, clean connectors its a hard to reach place since its so tight but u can manage do NOT! DO NOT force the q tip in, After use deoxit pen, clean till dry, put thin layer of progold on set aside. On mainboard should be an area where the connector slipped on, use rub+water and q tip to clean it Clean this with qtip solution, use deoxit after, clean dry, use progold pen. Put backtogether Once done your games should work, If not.... http://www.buymessiah.com/store/ Get a new nes by messiah, its a lil expensive but they updated it with red yellow and white stereo connectors, as well as a wireless receiver for there own wireless nes controllers, as well as got rid of the 72pin connector infavor of a slot connector that dosn't mess up like the old 72 pin connectors, and is actually easier to load. P.S: the nes patent time ran out the nex is a perfectly legal clone.
