I mean, i play it 5 hours strait and have no problems wit itchunkymonkey313
It has to do with hardware issues. Sometimes, it could happen if a person places it in an area with bad ventilation. Most of the time, it's not the owner's fault. The hardware is faulty, but the problem has calmed down since the RROD plague.
Buying a 360 increases yourchance of getting rrod.

Damn it!! Was joing to joke something similar... oh well, lol!!!
I have a theory that pretty much every 360 will eventually get RROD but when you get it is all luck. Some people might have get RROD after 20 days, while other people might save their 360 for 20 years then it finally gets it. I know I'll get flamed for this by 360 fanboys coming in here all "NO NO NO I HAS HAD MAH XBOX 360 SINCE DA LAUNCH DATE AND I AINT HAS NO PROBLEMZ SO UR THEORY IZ RONG"... but I don't care, it's just my opinion. Some 360s last longer than others, kind of like people that live longer than others... but I think all 360s will die with a red ring(if not something else) even if it takes them 100 years, just like all people will flatline eventually.Messiahbolical-
Cool story bro, you should write your dissertation on it.
I have a feeling the average Xbox has a 1 year lifespan, 20 days for the unkucky, and 8 years for the super lucky. :P

70 years from now when the last 360 in the world that works is sitting in the Historical Museom Of Video Games and finally gets the RROD, you'll be in the hospital bed with your life support all hooked up watching the gaming channel when they announce the last RROD and as your life fades away you'll be mumbling under your breath "he was right... Messiahbolical was right..... the RROD... he predicted it...." Then you're little granddaughter will be like "GRANDPA!" and you'll die. Then your granddaughter will tell everyone she knows about me and my prediction and MY LEGACY WILL LIVE ON! HAHAHAHA : D That just happened.[QUOTE="brennan7777"]

You should do it anyway. My delivery of jokes through text is just terrible.I take care of my systems, they are well placed in ventilated areas and guess what my 360 just got RROD last week... unfortunately its not about how much you use the console its a hardware fault which just happens to a large no. of 360 consoles..

I mean, i play it 5 hours strait and have no problems wit itchunkymonkey313I guess they just played it for 5 1/2 hours.
I mean, i play it 5 hours strait and have no problems wit itchunkymonkey313depends on the chipset you have the xenon has a 100% chance of RRoD it was just a matter of time, the falcon chipset has a 20 % chance and the new jasper chipset is claimed to have a 3-4% failure rate (and so far surveys are showing only 1% of jasper chipsets sold from sept 2008- have failed) the xenon chipset has nn output of 202W (made from launch till 2007 though you'd probably never run into one of these unless you stumble across a core SKU - don't buy it) the Falcon chipset has a output of 175W, this is the pro and old elites (produced from 2007-sept 2008) and the jasper has an ouput of 150W the arcade and the new elites. if you're in the market for a xbox check the output power or date of manufacture. btw my 2006 xenon xbox took 2.5 years to die Plamming on getting a new one soon. gaming FTW
