I have a Wii and a PS3, as well as DS Lite and PSP,at the moment. With these two system I dont' really have a hard time deciding which system to get my games for (The only game I'm having a hard time deciding on right now is Ghostbusters) However, I'm planning to get an Xbox soon and I'm just curious how you decide what system to get games for. Very rarely do I see a difference in rating on GS for Xbox and PS3, so that doesn't help and I really don't know how else to decide. For example, if I were to get Ghostbusters and the Sonic Collection, how would those of you with multiple systems decide which system to get the game on?

Thanks!

I go by which system the game got the best reviews for. For example, Ghostbusters I'd go Wii. When it comes to PS3 vs 360 and the reviews are near-identical, I'd go for the 360 version. I prefer the controller and the achievement points. Last generation, I chose to get most of my multiplats on the system whose controller I liked most also.

PS3 usually. Sometimes PC depends on the game.

If it's multiplat, PC. If not, well, my PS3 busted, so now it's the 360 no matter what for the 360/PS3 games. I'd rather have a PC exclusive then the vast majority of those PS3/360 games though. Most of them seem to be rubbish.

do you like cartoony stylized Ghostbusters or realistic looking Ghostbusters?

are motion controls really a big deal for ya? if gameplay trumps everything else. then i'd say get Ghostbusters on Wii.

for me i own a PS3 and 360. and i'm usually picking up my multiplatforms for PS3, as i prefer that console over the 360. Nothing against 360 really, i get a blast out of that one as well, just prefer PS3.

Though i will say older multi-platform games that are not Trophy Supported, i have pretty much only picked them up for 360.

To me PS3 and 360 multi-platforms are neigh exact. but fanboy's will rush in and point out to you how the dust in game might show better on the 360.

Thanks, that definitely makes sense. Right now, most of my games I buy are for the Wii, just because I prefer the system overall. I'm pretty much planning to get Ghostbusters on the Wii because it did get the better reviews, the only reason I would consider getting it on Xbox or PS3 instead is because of the better graphics since I hear the Wii's graphics for the game are pretty bad (although I haven't seen them myself) Since I don't have the Xbox yet, I really haven't had the chance to use the controller. I don't mind the PS3's, but I don't play it that long, so it may get more uncomfortable with time, but I also had a PS1 so I'm kind of used to the controller now. For me, I think it will be based mainly on which system gets the best reviews (when they vary) and then I will probably go with Wii or Xbox if they get equally good reviews because they are more convenient for me to play, my PS3 is in the main TV room because of the Blu-Ray so it can be more difficult to play it. Thanks again for your reply!

Eurogamer has a face off section comparing pretty much every multiplat. I usually read there and buy whichever version is superior. If they're equal, I go for the cheapest I can find :D

Thanks everyone for all the good feedback, I love all your ideas. I don't think it will be much of an issue, it was just something I was curious about since I'm planning to get the Xbox. I think that with exclusives I will have a good arrangement of games for all the systems, and can always alternate between them as necessary. Right now I don't have much issue as I prefer the Wii over PS3 (I'm a casual gamer) but I think the PS3 and Xbox will be fighting each other to get games!!!

Thanks again!

There are always slight differences between versions of the same game, that make one version better. Controls. Online servers. Exclusive features. Even if the only difference is average polygon count, you may as well get the version that looks slightly better.

so funny and true, i love how you implied correctly that the pc will have the better version of what ever game, and you did it with such taste as most people would not have noticed

My wii haven't touched it since, god i may sound like an **** even though im a greater fan of Nintendo, Then Sony or Microsoft, but for 1 year or more.

Sorry, I think you misunderstood my post. I wasn't implying that the pc was the necesarily the better version. I said better version implying which system had the better version. Not necessarily the pc.

It depends on the control scheme. For example, Final Fantasy XIII and main non spin off Final Fantasy games are usually on Sony platforms. I'm use to playing Final Fantasy games with the dualshock, so therefore I'm going to be getting Final Fantasy XIII for the PS3.

I glance over to my TV cabinet to confirm that I don't need to worry about such a thing.

Screenshot comparisons have helped me a great deal over recent months.

I also like to research any exclusive DLC a game may have and I also like to consider which control pad a game would work better with.

I would say my biggest regrets were buying the PS3 versions of Bioshock and Sonic Unleahed though.

Well multiplats are usually better on the 360 version, so get 360 versions instead unless the ps3 version has exclusive content.
