Nintendo is good at making games, they know how to use their system to the fullest and not milk it. cough3rdpartydevelperscoughLegend_O_Dragonyeah but metroid and smash look like very very high end last gen games while this is miles ahead of anything seen in the xbox/ps2 days.
Sadly, third party devs seem more intrested in porting old games and game engines than making games from ground up. Luckly that's changing though. Look up a game cald dewey's adventure... wait why don't I just get the link...

It's from a bit ago though, so most frame drops have been smoothed out by now.

Galaxy seems like a ground up engine that Nintendo made, Mp3 seems be an extremely buffed up version of the Echoes engine. Brawl looks great imo.

IMO It doesn't look good. Full of jags and bad textures.taikthebateyou probably watched the bee level. watch the one I described.

im not.
but compares to rachet and clank the game looks like garbage,
jags? even gears of war has jaggies. also if you look closely at many of the textures in gears of war like as in 1 inch from a wall, it doesn't look all that great. i bought gears of war and that's what i did immediately just to check the quality of the game. the textures were decent but the textures on the character models are what really stood out.
anyways, if want to to see truly bad textures just look at the ground in twilight princess.
mario galaxy looks great, if it's lacking in any area be it textures, lighting, etc. it makes up for in art style and action on screen. definitely a 10 in graphics for wii and a 9 if it was on any of the other next gen consoles. if you disagree, you are being blinded by ignorance

a 9?for ps3 or 360?
you got to be kidding.
rachet and clank is barly going to get a 9 for ps3 and its the best looking platformer by far.

Go watch the gameplay video, not the screenies, foo' :|
I did and they were extremely noticable.Of course gears had jags it was on the 360. yes we all know great ratchet looks but I have zero hype for it at the moment because its the exact same thing that I became sick of on the ps2 but prettier. I'll give ratchet a rent but its lost its pizzazz after they started making a new one each year.Step 1 - Design your own systemi agree but I'm glad DQ swords exists. Until it came out the wii lacked any sizable software for japan and it's sales ensure lots of support from square enix.
Step 2 - Get the guys who designed the system to hang out with Miyamoto and help him make a game
Step 3 - Give them plenty of time and money
Step 4 - Enjoy!
Err.. I mean fairy dust! Seriously, it really helps to be able to contract out custom parts, then have people within your company who know those parts inside-and-out work with your game designers. Third parties don't have that talent pool to pull from. It also helps that games like Super Mario Galaxy get plenty of time, money, talent, and creative freedom. Now if only the third parties, and Nintendo would do a lot more of these high-budget, high-talent ventures, stuff like Red Steel and Dragon Quest: Swords would not exist.
