Four, not three.
As for your question as to why someone that owns all systmes isn't a fanboy/fangirl, while it isn't necessarily true, they did care about it enough to buy and play them so they do have some credibility regardless of bias, much more than what can be said for most people.
It isn't. They're trying to justify that they spend way too much money on gaming by claiming they're on a higher plane than people who don't. "Buyer's Remorse." ;)

I own all the systems and have absolutely no buyer's remorse. I guess you can justify your hobby when you have a good job to fund it, though.;)
Yeah it has nothing to do with the fact that they might want to play games on other systems. Why in the hell would they want to do that? It's so much better having an uninformed opinion on a console you don't own. Who needs that when you can be critical of things you never experienced? It isn't. I own all 4 (including PC) and Wii at the moment is my least favorite. Am I a fanboy? No. Do I have a preference at the moment? Yes. However, at least I can admit that each system has its quality titles and pluses. I can also freely admit that my system of choice at the moment has its drawbacks, aka. the PS3. Many times if someone owns only one, they feel the need to defend that one system so strongly that they become a fanboy. Those of us who own all four are less likely to feel that need.

I don't know. I will always have favorites no matter how mnay consoles I have. Then again fan =/= fanboy. I might have all 3 but be a fan of the 360.Tiefster
Ya thats definately something there, you can have prefererence but it doesn't mean it will cloud your overall judgement on each and every system. "I enjoy this the one most, but I can respect all the good that comes from all the others, and I know all the flaws with each system."

I wouldn't pay $400 for an informed opinion, but that's just me.

Well, it depends. Some buy them for bragging rights, some others because they like gaming a lot, and some simply don't have anything better to do with their cash. I for one, love gaming a lot, and I've got a personal opinion about all my platforms:
PC: I wish it was easier to play games on hi-end on it, since I've got a 7600GS =(
PS3: It's a pretty system, it's got a helluva lot of media features, and I like it's interface better than any other. I like the exclusives, and I like the controller's D pad. Still, I hate the PSN and the sixaxis motion thingy.
360: I like it's online community and it's features. I think the controller is almost perfect (a ps3 button layout and a better d pad would make it perfect IMO) and I've had the most fun with it, since most of my friends have a 360.
Wii: it's got my favorite franchise; Zelda, so I got this in an obligatory matter. I love (good) nintendo games, since they remind why I started gaming on the 1st place, but the lack of games directed towards me is infuriating. I want a new starfox and a new zelda.
As for handhelds:
DS: nintendo franchises, some great 3rd party titles, but I'm not that fond of the touch screen since it just makes me block the screen, since I've long hands, and a phat. I'd like more customization with it, say, the ability to change controls schemes in games like phantom hourglass, since I'd rather move with a D pad, but still games like mario kart, and castlevanias make me love the little device.
PSP: lots of features, I use it just to kill time by using many of it's features, and some nice games too. I love the design, but hate that there's no 2nd analog stick.
Now, the one I play the most now is the ps3, since it's the one I got the latest, and so far, I've enjoyed it, but I think the one which has given me the most fun is the 360, followed by the wii, but the ps3 is catching up, since all I need is more controllers, since most of my friends have wii's or 360's, it's easy to play MP, but just a couple have ps3's, so it's not that easy.
its a load of bs, there is no one on this board who isnt bias toward a certain consoleDante2710

Yeah. Just ignore that little bit of information.I didn't buy a PS3, 360, PC and a PSP to be informed. I bought them because there were games on each of those platforms that I wanted to play. I also had a Wii and a DS but I wasn't playing either one of them, so I got rid of them. But guess what? Because I have actually owned all of these systems, when I have criticism or praise, I'm confident that I know what the hell I'm talking about over some fanboy that never owned a particular system.
This isn't about bragging rights, it's about enjoying my hobby to the fullest. I know that everybody can't do it the way I do, but if someone asks me a question about any of those systems at least I know I'm giving an honest answer. And that works for me.

Okay then. But my original post was actually just turning around what people say about fanboys all the time. What if I don't want to play any games on the other systems? Apparently that's impossible, and the only explanation for my Nintendo fandom is "Buyer's Remorse."
Pretty silly either way, isn't it? ;)
well.. it depends on which one i'm playing more at the time..
last gen was my ps2.. this gen is my X360.. (had all last gen & have all current gen consoles).
I am a supreme PC fanboy, but between the consoles I like them all pretty equally.
However I tend to defend sony more than the others, mainly because it's more fun to be an underdog. But that's how I am in everything.
Edit: I own a PC, DS, PSP, PS3, and a Wii. Shortly to get an Xbox for Gears2.

How did I spend too much money on gaming? Wouldn't that be my opinion as to if I did or not?
Since I keep buying games and loving them, I would say I have yet to spend enough on gaming...)
Well no, having all 4 you can still be a fanboy
You can own a $5,000 PC yet only play solitaire
You can own a PS3 but only use it for movies and never buy a PS3 game
You can own a 360 just so you can watch
netflix on your TV and never buy a 360 game
You can own a Wii just to go with the crowd and never buy a game for it.
Would it make you any less of a fanboy if you have a liking towards a particular company?
I personally have a bit of Sony bias, but am quick to point out their BS, and I own all 4.
Theres a difference between bias and fanboyism. I have all three consoles, and I lean towards 360 more, but I am not a fanboy.
beast667
I agree with this guy! I own an Xbox 360, a PS3 and a gaming rig (and will be getting a Wii shortly) and I lean ever so slightly towards my PS3, but that does not mean I hate either my Xbox 360 or PC (or soon to be Wii). Damn to hell the fool of a took who wouldst call me a fanboy.

No kidding. Its not as if gaming is an expensive hobby. We aren't collecting classic cars or going skiing in Aspen 2 times a year. Even at $3,000 a year, its still cheaper than most hobbies when you are making grown-up money.
I don't need to justify anything, but I have all 3 AND a gaming PC, and I will say, PC is the best by far, 360 and PS3 are about equal for game playing, though the PS3 gets more use because of BR, and Wii is complete and utter trash. Its just my unbiased opinion. People will say its biased because they don't like it, that doesnt mean its biased though...
yes and no...while everybody can own and enjoy all 4 game systems, its simple human nature to gravitate towards one that you "enjoy" most.
that being said i own a Wii, 360 and PC...i plan on a PSP soon and a PS3 when more games of my intrest are out. and i tend to grafitate towards nintendo more when looking for huge releces and the 360 for...well most everything right now >.>
I've seen people's sigs saying "No room for fanboyism" as if the fact that they own all three systems denounces any claims that they are fanboys. Why is it like this?KOTORkicker
I been playing games for 25. How can i be a fanboy of any console when none lasted 25 years. I think fanboys are generally young kids who started gaming recently (1 or 2 gens) on one console. Think about it, why would i care about Nintendo, Sony or MS?? They havent even been around for 5 gens except Nintendo (much love Nintendo)!!!!

I just bought a psp, I mainly use it in the bathroom {lol}. Unless you travel or just love hand held games, I dont see the point. I have a 360/ps3/wii and a big screen tv, so unless Im on the toilet, or on the road it is useless to me. I also have a Ipod so the music downloads dont help me either.
