it's nothing close to a failure unless you are talking in relative terms but even there you have to notice how well it did for a non nintendo hand held.

You clearly have no idea of what you're talking about.

then please.. Explain why I am wrong exactly... PSP got downgraded PS2 ports.. check.. 3DS is getting upgraded ports of n64 games and a ps2 game.. check... Oh yeah I am soo full of it
Ports are ports. The PSP was ridiculed for getting ports and remakes. I just want to interrupt this argument and say Professor layton vs. pheonix Wright. K thanks for listening please carry on :DWell it's not a failure in it's own right but...

well you need to compare it inorder for it to be a failure or a win
How do you know when something is a failure when there is nothing to base it on. The only way is when the developer of something loses money instead of gaining money from the product. And that would leave very very little failures in gaming, Even the GCN would be considered a win then, because nintendo made money on it.
The software was the problem because people pirated the poor thing to death. Sales wise it was very good, it just wasn't a profitable platform for devs to put their games on.
Do ppl consider the Genesis a failure? It did lose badly to the SNES and the Genesis may have had a lot of great titles but a lot of them are ports from the arcade(see the similitude with the PSP here).
Well I don't here.
People here consider GC to be a total failure while Xbox 1 was "moderately successful". Numbers, ironically, don't matter as much as ranks do here in SW.Do ppl consider the Genesis a failure? The Genesis sold 29million to 49million for the SNES...The Gamecube sold 30? million to the PS2's 110million...I mean it's not the same....Also I made the SNES/Genesis comparison cause they were pretty much the only competition out there(like the DS and PSP).
The PSP has some great games that I would love to see on any console(would love to see more). Sony is making money on every console sold..That summerizes a success to me.

Yeah that's my point as well. Where can we say System A is successful while system B is a flop? FYI GC sold 22 million, Xbox sold 24 million, PS2 sold a whopping 140 million AND STILL going strong today. :DPlease Log In to post.
